bonding, ethtool and live migration
...y and deactivated the network-bridge script. I modified nothing else of the xen installation. I''m using Debian 3.1 (sarge) as dom0 and domU. It would be great if someone could give me some pointers. PS: I''m in doubt if xen 3.0.1 is really stable!? -- thanks and greetings eMHa _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

pae hypervisor and kernel
...the filenames are very ugly (xen0-linux-2.6.18) and the initrd isn't build automatic. I'm using xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-i386-pae and linux-image-2.6.18-1-xen-686 (from unstable, but will soon be in etch as i see) as starting point for my own compiled linux image. -- greetings eMHa -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... ...ys and handles ~20 domUs. Also a lot of live migration are happening to and from this host.) So for me this bug doesn't "renders package unusable". I'm very happy with the xen packages from Debian 4.0 so i can setup a whole bunch of dom0s in a very short time. -- greetings eMHa -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Bug#428685: kernel bugs when running xen in HVM mode
...ice not found." can occur if the device is (still) in use. I've found this sometimes if a domU was not normally shutdown. Possible solutions: + kill processe(s) accessing this device + restart xend + if a block device has really a problem (io blocking) you have to reboot -- greetings eMHa -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Bug#701744: [xen] Update to hypervisor 4.0.1-5.6 or linux-image-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 2.6.32-48 causes networking (VIF) failures
Hello, I was also hit by this problem. Perhaps it is related to the xen-netback module in the dom0 kernel? Xen 3.0.3 disk i/o
Hello, I''ve seen from time to time where a domU using heavy disk I/O can slow down an entire server (including all other domU''s and dom0). Is there a way to schedule or limit this in Xen 3.0.3? Xen, NFS performance, rsize, wsize and MTU
We have a Xen 3.0 / Linux kernel 2.6.15 machine with the domU''s configured for shared /home directories. One of the domU''s is an NFS server, exporting /home, and the other domU''s all mount this. It all functions fine, but it''s pretty slow. I tried untarring a recent Linux kernel tarball. On the NFS server domU this takes about 25 seconds. I didn''t

p2v migration + Xen
Hi All, We are using Xen to help keep certain services separate on the LAN but also to create multiple virtual machines for safe and easy software development across multiple platforms (all Linux based). Am looking for some advice/tips/how-tos/whatever to help in a p2v migration I am about to undertake. We have a machine in place that I would like to migrate, however am unsure as to what the

Scheduled maintenance?
I''m running xen on SLES10SP2. It''s been much more stable than SP1, but I still occasionally have issues. For example, one of my servers (8 CPU/32GB RAM) has five sles pv domUs and five fully virtualized windows 2k3 domUs. It had been up for almost 60 days. Yesterday afternoon one of the sles domU''s stopped responding. I went to check on it and I couldn''t using

A simple backup
All, I''ve got one Xen server running CentOS 5, with 3 CentOS virtual machines on it. I have what I hope is a simple question: I''d like to backup the virtual machines. I don''t care about anything but the ability to restore a couple of files and be able to be back up and running quickly. At some point I''ll have a spare server ready to migrate running Xen

Xen and iSCSI - options and questions
Hello, I have a small Xen farm of 8 dom0 servers with 64 virtual machines running para-virtualized and this has been working great. Unfortunately, I''ve hit a limit: my iSCSI hardware supports only 512 concurrent connections and so I''m pretty much at the limit. (Wish I would have seen that problem sooner!) Of course, 87% of those connections are idle-- but necessary because I
