Rsync problem
....host.com:/tmp Everytime I run this command with one of the users, I get this error: "building file list ... pop_dir /tmp : Permission denied" The strange thing is that I have about 5 users who have the same permissions to run this command, but only one of them gets it. URGENT: REDHAT 6.1 STORES SAMBA PRIVATE FILES IN /etc
dear redhat, i examined a friend's system today, to help him configure it. assuming that he just "installed" from scratch the samba package, it appears that you have provided a default smb.conf file for redhat 6.1 that puts samba private configuration files in /etc. the suggested options, for example show "smbpasswd file = /etc/smbpasswd". this is REALLY bad. 1) you

RFC: conflict_warnings plugin
Greetings, I was hoping to get some feedback on a plugin I wrote. The plugin is called conflict_warnings and is currently available from my github repository at http://github.com/EmFi/conflict_warnings The purpose of the plugin is to provide a simple methods of preventing data inconsistencies that could arise from multiple users interacting with the same resource. Under basic operation a

What happens to RJS in Rails 3
I know that Rails 3 ideal of unobtrusive javascript will result in the removal of all inline javascript. But where does that leave RJS? It looks like PrototypeGenerator is still a part of the Rails core, so I''m going to assume that RJS templates will remain unchanged. Still looks like gems/plugins such JRals will be necessary for use of other JS frameworks. Can anyone confirm or deny

sshd problem
I appologize in advance if this is a "stupid user problem" but here goes. I have a RH 6.1 machine with PAM 0.75. I installed OpenSSL and OpenSSH (2.9p1). ssh works fine however when I try to run sshd and then ssh into this same machine I get Failed Password for user x. I copied the RH sshd.pam file into /etc/pam.d/sshd. I even deleted the user and readded it. He can log onto the

[LLVMdev] [LNT] Question about results reliability in LNT infrustructure
This is probably another area where a bit of dynamic behavior could help. When we find a regressions, kick off some runs to bisect back to where it manifests. This is what we would be doing manually anyway. We could just search back with the set of regressing benchmarks, meaning the whole suite does not have to be run (unless it is a global regression). There are situations where we see commit

[LLVMdev] Enabling the vectorizer for -Os
Hi, I would like to start a discussion about enabling the loop vectorizer by default for -Os. The loop vectorizer can accelerate many workloads and enabling it for -Os and -O2 has obvious performance benefits. At the same time the loop vectorizer can increase the code size because of two reasons. First, to vectorize some loops we have to keep the original loop around in order to handle the last
