Problem with nested functions - functions nested too deeply in source code
Hi all!
I¹m just implementing the Ullmann¹s algorithm for searching subgraph
isomorphisms in graphNEL objects. The algorithm is running with smaller
graphs, but when I¹m calling it i get an R error message saying that
functions are nested too deeply in source code. I found out that the problem
is in the so called refinement procedure of the algorithm which consists of
10 different functions,

Since updating to LLVM 3.3, the system is generating attributes such as:

[LLVMdev] attribute for disabling fp elim
Hi all,
Is there a way to specify an attribute in a .ll file so that it will
disable fp elim as if llc has been invoked with -disable-fp-elim on command
line ?

no-frame-pointer-elim & optimized
Hi,
I have a function with:
attributes #2 = { "no-frame-pointer-elim"="true"
"no-frame-pointer-elim-non-leaf" }
Yet when compiling it generates:

I just enabled a new algorithm for computing live intervals that doesn't depend on LiveVariables.
The goal is to get rid of the LiveVariables analysis completely, but unfortunately PHI elimination and the two-address pass still use LiveVariables for some optimizations. They don't require it, they work just fine without it at -O0. They use it to generate better code in some cases.

Updated llc does not compile my .ll files any more [addrspace on AVR problem?]
Hi,
I’ve come back and updated my llvm toolset with modern code (my branch was about 1-2 years old) and now the llvm IR files produced by my front end no longer compile with llc.
Here is a sample of llvm ir produced by my front end (it’s a standard version 3.1 build of swift from the swift.org open source website).

The RoboVM project recently upgraded from LLVM 3.3 to 3.4 and with the new
version we are sometimes seeing "ran out of registers during register
allocation" errors when targeting x86 32-bit that we haven't seen before.
Nothing has changed in our bitcode generator. I have attached an IR file

[LLVMdev] Setting TARGET_LLCFLAGS in the environment
Weird issue beyond my make-fu:
When running the test-suite, this works fine:
make TARGET_LLCFLAGS='-mcpu=cortex-a8 -mattr=+thumb2' TEST=nightly report
But this fails:
export TARGET_LLCFLAGS='-mcpu=cortex-a8 -mattr=+thumb2'
make TEST=nightly report
It looks like the following line from Makefile.rules is executed multiple times:

LLVM v3.9.0 and math built-ins
Hi Mehdi,
The ISO C specification does permit the math functions to modify ‘errno’, but I thought that the ‘-fno-math-errno’ option was to tell the optimiser to assume that ‘errno’ is not modified by the math functions. Explicitly providing ‘-fno-math-errno’ is not restoring the elision optimisation that was performed by LLVM v3.8, and this is really only a driver option, with ‘-fmath-errno’

I think it will be useful for me to understand the connection, why this type of pointer is being emitted now.
Do you have any suggestions where i can look to find the platform specific code that is making function pointers go into addrspace?

How to call C function 'malloc' ?
Hi, everyone.
I am new to llvm and I want to use C function “malloc" and “free" to do heap allocation, but It seems it is not a built-in function like ‘’printf” so I got an error “Unknown extern function”.
I use ExecutionEngineer to run my main function and how should I do to make EE link the C library I want.

[LLVMdev] Why google-perftools fails to detect stack of JITted code? (with option -disable-fp-elim set)
I have this problem: google-perftools fails to detect stack for the code
run under JIT called through C++ api from my program. It shows in
profile like all program is one block with the name _init.
I clearly do set the option NoFramePointerElim and I do see how it makes
a difference in stack frame under gdb.
When running some code in JIT in lli (with option -disable-fp-elim)
