Moterboard help Please
...f your help would be greatly appreciated. And before I flashed it, it did not ask me to backup the prior bios. I would just hate to trash this setup. The machine still works but with this current bios only the first pci slot works which means I can't use a nic card or anything in it. Thank you Elijah http://www.digitalrage.org/ For your technical news and HowTo's Stop by and vote in the latest poll about Mr. Spam King.

Hi, I've been trying to install Zimbra Desktop 7 on CentOS 5.5 using the usual perl script provided. The issue is, I get a warning that my system does not have ia32 libs. I dug a bit on google and found out that 'there is no such package as ia32 libs for Centos'. I also tried all the suggested work arounds like glibc & stuff, can anyone shed more light on this? Oh, the zimbra

Browsing and Mapped Drives over a VPN
Hello All: I have a situation where I have a Samba box (RH 7.3 w/samba 2.2.4) that I set up for a client. Another consultant came along and installed a VPN using SonicWalls between the main site and a remote site. So now they want the remote users to save files on my Samba box. No problem except that the remote users can't see my local workgroup or any of the local machines. Here's

setting default domain
Hello, I'm attempting to use samba winbind for ssh authentication for users in Active Directory. Things are mostly working, but I'm looking for two things: 1.) I currently have to authenticate as ADLOCAL+elijah at concordia.uchicago.edu . I would like to authenticate as elijah at concordia.uchicago.edu 2.) I would like the uid of the elijah user to be pulled from an existing entry in /etc/passwd (or eventually ldap) instead of being generated by winbind. ====Active Directory Structure==== Groups, C...

Actually it seems it may be possible to call an *.f file ?? or I am wrong again? The manual is very terse on the subject. samba ssh
I've got a situation where my webdesigners (win2k) are located on a different subnet (and location) than the samba server. I need a way of using a local (to the webdesigners) machine (linux) to use SSH and port forward to the remote samba server. How does one go about doing such a thing?

Minor problem with unwritable directories
...run across a (minor) bug. The rsync web page directed me to this list for bug reports. Anyway, I've described it below (including a simple test case with exact commands to reproduce and the output I get from those commands). I hope this helps. Let me know if any more information is needed. Elijah P.S. If it isn't a bug, could someone describe to me why this is expected behavior? I asked the sysadmin about it and he says it looks like a bug to him. -- Description of problem -- Versions of rsync tested: 2.5.5, 2.5.6 Clear all write permissions on a directory. Unable to join AD (FreeBSD)
Hi, I am trying to get samba 3.0.7 working with our win2k DC. I installed samba from the ports collection, so the kerberos library looks to be the heimdel version. I can use kinit to create a ticket and it authenticates against the DC just fine. However when I attempt to use "net ads join" it fails with the following response: [2004/11/09 16:32:30, 0] utils/net_ads.c:ads_startup(183)

Samba joins win2k domain but can't authenticate

If I change it to security=server it does not prompt for user names. I did some searching in the list came up with a few emails and this website http://www.sugoi.org/bits/index.php?bit_id=10 but still no change. In the /etc/host

R on Beowulf cluster?
Dear R-help, Has anyone tried running R on a Beowulf-type cluster? I can get R to run in batch (using R CMD BATCH) on a cluster, but am wondering if it is possible to get an interactive R session on a compute node. Right now, if I run: beorun --nolocal R I just get the R start-up message and back to the shell prompt. If I try bpsh 0 R I can get R started (but the R prompt does not

connection diagram
Hi I am practically new to R, and need to construct connection diagrams, I have a table of data, of nodes in vertical rows, and horizontally the number of outgoing connections to other nodes, and the indices of these nodes, each in a column, so some columns are used, and some are not, based on how many connections I have the node is identified by these variables (dimension, wave number,
