subsetting levels of a vector
...I need to subset different levels of vector in a dataset to create a new dataframe that contains only these. These observations are not numerical, so I can't use the subset() function (at least this is the response I get from R). Suppose the dataframe looks like this:   ParticipID    ERP   Electrode 1         s1  0.0370       FP1 2         s2 35.0654       FP2 3         s3 -3.3852        F4 4         s4  2.6119        P3 5         s5  0.1224        P4 6         s6 -5.3153        O1 I want to create a subset of the dataframe with only the FP1, FP2, F4 levels of Electrode, how do I do? (actua...

How to split two levels several times?
Hi, I have a small problem with the function split() and would appreciate your help. I have a table called ?XXX? with 2 columns and 49 rows. The 49 rows belong to 8 different levels (electrode1, ...,electrode8). I want to split the table always at the row where ?electrode1? starts again so that I can export 7 individual dataframes (numbered ?dataframe1? to ?dataframe7?) which contain always electrode1 as first level (always three rows) with the varying number of rows for electrodes2-8 b...

planned comparisons for ANOVA
...subjects factors. There are 2 subject groups. Although there are matched individuals across groups (matched for extraneous demographic variables), we consider them a between-subject factor with 2 categorical levels (controls, patients). The dependent variable is a multivariate recording from 124 electrodes on the scalp, to measure electric potential from the scalp surface. These recordings are summarised into regional activity for the left and right hemisphere. So hemisphere is a within-subjects factor that has 2 levels (left and right). The last factor is an experimental manipulation, a visual...
