Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion sound problems
Hey all, this will be my first post on the forum.
I am new to Linux (and subsequently WINE), having only recently ported over from windows to save me an outrageous $180 for an OS (and general prodding by a friend). Thus, I do not yet know much about terminal commands, but can use them.
To the main topic. As the title may have hinted at, Oblivion has sound problems. The launcher plays music

include directive doesn''t expand parameters?
.../shorewall/$ACCFILE'' (with the $ACCFILE parameter
unexpanded!)
Is this a bug or an unimplemented feature, or is there some way to work
around this? At the moment I''ve just hardcoded the path in the include
statement.
My shorewall version is 2.0.7 on Bering-uclibc 2.2.

Moaning dog...
Here's one for you phone people....
An elderly lady phoned her telephone company to report that her telephone
failed to ring when her friends called - and that on the few occasions when it
did ring, her pet dog always moaned right before the phone rang.
The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic
dog or senile...

...ight way to fix this problem, I just thought that build might
fail informatively.) I've searched the last year or so of LLVM-dev
archives to no avail, and the web hasn't been particularly helpful.
Does this issue ring a bell with anybody? Any ideas what I should try next?
Thanks,

Video compression, edge detection, and gcc warnings
<WARNING: Long message ahead>
Well, I have actually done something the past 1 1/2 week. I've created a
program that runs several filters over an image to extract edge
information. Currently it loads any uncompressed grayscale TGA file, and
spits out another uncompressed greyscale TGA file that is 255 at places
where there are edges, and 0 where there are not. I managed to get out

two tellabs 2572 echo board in a 253c mounting assembly?
Anyone gotten two of the 2572 echo canceller cards to work in a 253c mounting assembly? I can get one to work, but when I install two, one always fails. I've tried all my cards solo in the enclosure, on each side, and they all work properly when only 1 is installed, however, when I install two, one of them will come up, but the other always fails. Anyone know what might be causing this?

[OT] vernacular names for circular diagrams
...French employ a gastronomical metaphor when
they refer to Playfair's pie chart, but they have preferred
instead to invoke the name of the wonderful round soft
cheese from Normandy - the camembert. When I spent 4 months
in Paris a few years ago, a friend invited my wife and me to
lunch with her elderly father who lives in Rouen, Normandy,
about an hour North of Paris. Her father inquired -
coincidentally during the cheese course - what work I was
doing in Paris; I replied that I was researching the
activities of a Scot, William Playfair, during the
revolutionary period. I told him that Playfair...
