PKR not working with Wine 1.0.1 and Eeebuntu
Even though the game PKR (from pkr.com) is supposed to work fine with Wine and Ubuntu 8.4, it's not working on my Eee PC 901 netbook. The game starts fine, and I can log in, then view a list of current tables, but when I try to go to one of the tables the graphics go all corrupted. Even at the table list screen, the mouse is out of allignment by about 50 pixels. Is there a wine log

Please free up disk space and rerun this installation." I'm assuming that the temporary file is trying...

R on netbooks et al?
Dear useRs, With the rise of netbooks and 'lifestyle laptops" I am tempted to get one of these to mainly run R on it. Processor power and hard disk space seem to be ok. What I wonder is the handling and feel with respect to R. Has anyone here installed or is running R on one of these, and if so, what is your experience? Would it be more of a nice looking gadget than a feasable platform

5.3 on an EeePC??
I have an ASUS EeePC 701 (with 2GB of RAM and an 8 GB card), on which I've installed CentOS on the hard-drive-plus-card. But it can't even use my eth0. Some one on a local LUG, where I had mentioned that other OSs did fine with all the same exact hardware, suggested that CentOS, being designed for stability rather than the bleeding edge, likely lacks drivers; so I need to get
