echotraining on T1 circuits
Hello, We just had some new T1s turned up today to replace others that our contract has run out on and we are now getting more echo on the new T1 lines than we had on the old ones. The T1 type is 24-channel, D4/AMI SF Robbed-bit(the same as the T1s they replaced) The problem is that we are getting echo on about 10% of the calls in and out placed on these new T1s compared to less than 1% with

adding another fxo card
I have Asterisk working with one FXO card (clone x100P card PCI card). I am trying to add 2 more cards so my question is - do I just increase the channel count on the zaptel.conf and zapata.conf files? [original] /etc/zaptel.conf fxsks=1 loadzone = us defaultzone=us /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf [channels] language=en context=from-pstn signalling=fxs_ks faxdetect=incoming usecallerid=yes

echotraining=yes in misdn.conf is invalid or out of range.
Hi. I'm having problems with chan_mISDN configuration. Line "echotraining=yes" causes warning, when Asterisk is parsing misdn.conf and I'm confused why the PBX doesn't accept the setting. No matter which section I try to offer it, it is always invalid or out of range. The setting itself is supposed to be valid, it is in the sample configuration file of chan_mISDN 0.3.1.

Echo for first 15 to 20 seconds
I am using asterisk with a handful of DM04B cards. Everything seems fine except for an echo on all calls on the local end of the call. In almost all cases the echo goes away after 15 to 20 seconds. I am attributing the echo going away to the echo cancellation code that was enabled when the following options are set: echocancel=yes ; echocancelwhenbridged=yes echotraining=yes ; Is there anyway

Proper use of echotraining=yes
If you have echo on the X100P's Mark setup chan_zap to pretrain the echo can, but it had a few issues until today which Mark nailed down the bug that caused the DTMF to be unreliable. Ok here is how you would do it: in your zapata.conf.sample: ; In some cases, the echo canceller doesn't train quickly enough and there ; is echo at the beginning of the call. Enabling echo training will

Weird..bridging to Zap channel FXS instead of bridging to PSTN FXO on outgoing group
Hi All, Channels 25-28 on a customers PBX are regular Zaptel FXO cards that are hooked into 4 incomming phone lines. They are all in a group to do automatic rollover for outgoing calls (if channel 25 is being used, dial on channel 26, etc.). Sometimes when a user is dialing a number, instead of bridging to one of the FXO cards it goes and rings to Zap/1-1. This doesnt occur all the time but some

Asterisk 1.8.x Skips DTMF Digits on a First DAHDI Initiated Call
Hi, I know it sounds weird, and this is part of the reason I have not reported that sooner. As I upgraded from 1.6.2.x to 1.8.x several months ago I am experiencing this problem. If a call is initiated from a DAHDI extension after no DAHDI extensions were used for some time, arbitrary DTMF digits are skipped and the call fails. If the call is redialed it goes through. Normally just one (1)

Questions regarding new echo cancellation features...
I notice the zaptel Makefile option the mark2 option & KFLAGS+=-DAGGRESSIVE_SUPPRESSOR is now gone. Does simply adding these options still compile in a certain echo can - or is there an other method of activating a particular can. I have not had to update my machine that is connected to pstn for a while & I don't want to jump into echotraining without a way to quickly enable what has

TDM400P FXO click sounds
Hello, I have a TDM400P with 4 FXO ports, currently using three. When sending or receiving calls on this card, there is a nearly constant popping/clicking sound, it is related to the echo cancellation?. I adjusted my gains properly, but to no avail. I even found that setting echotraining=no in zapata.conf didn't change the scenario at all. I've plugged analog handsets into the

tdm400p not working with brazilian lines
Hi, I'm installing an Asterisk box with a TDM2400P in Brazil. I can make analog phones work while lines are not working. Since I do not know anything about brazilian lines, is there anybody who can tell me what is wrong/missing in my conf files (below)? TIA Giorgio _zaptel.conf:_ fxoks=9-16 fxsks=17-24 defaultzone=br loadzone=br* * _zapata.conf:_ context = inbound_zap echocancel = 128

SV: re: Sound issues on SIP-SIP calls
I thought the same thing before I made my reply but zapata.conf seems to be the only config file that deals with echo at all. From what I understand of 'echotrain' is that at the beginning of the call it sends a short signal out that measure echo in an attempt to try and cancel it. I was wondering if you tried using it and if so was it of any help? Sincerely, Steve But is Zapata.conf

TDM2400P with echo canceller not working
Hi, I have a box with Debian Sarge, Asterisk 1.2.1 (and zaptel 1.2.1) and a TDM2400P with echo canceller. I installed the card but no echo cancellation is being made...seems like the echo canceller module does not work, infact the software cancellation is working. My zapata.conf has echocancel = 128 and echocancelwhenbridged = yes but no echotraining parameter which gives a warning. I found

Weird Zaphfc - not dialling non-local numbers
Hi all, I really hope that you guys can help, because I've been tearing my hair out for the past 5 hours on this one. I have a Zaphfc (BRI) card in TE mode connected to the S-Bus of a Nortel Meridian phone system. Phone calls from the Nortel to say MSN 510 are correctly being sent to the right SIP phone. When asterisk dials say Zap/g2/224 (a Nortel internal extension) the call goes

Astribank and caller ID from PSTN
Hello, I've one astribank with 8 FXO unit and 8 pstn lines connected to the astribank. When I receive calls on my ipphone I get always Unknown callerid. It's is possible to receive the callerid from the lines on the astribank unit? This is my config: [channels] language=es context=from-zaptel signalling=fxs_ks ;rxwink=300 usecallerid=yes callerid=asreceived ;cidsignalling=bell

Initial second lost on SIP phones
I find that when asterisk answers the phone, the initial second or so is lost. I can imagine that echotraining can do this, but this is between SIP phones and I don't think there is any echotraining enabled? BTW. Asterisk is definitely playing sounds that first second (The CLI would indicate that it would play a beep but I just won't hear it). Any comments appreciated. Pieter

mfcr2 stuck
Hello I'm using mfcr2 support (unicall) in asterisk 1.4. Everything is working fine, asterisk can answer calls. But after some random period of time mfcr2 module stuck. When I make a call to my * box I can hear only signal of getting caller ID ("tritirirti" - like jumping on :) ) and connection is terminated by my telecom operator. When everything I ok after few seconds of this

Echo on Zaptel FXO :(
Hi All, I've got an MD3200 modem which is working as a Zaptel FXO interface for Asterisk (X100P clone I believe). It seems to work, but on incoming or outgoing calls I can hear the other party ok but when I speak, I hear my voice echo back at me (quite quietly but it's distracting!) on everything I say. The other party doesn't seem to hear the echo - they just say I sound a bit quiet.

Problems with ZAP Channels
Hi everyone, Sometimes i am having problems with Zap channels on asterisk 1.2 (Disc-OS 1.1), after some calls, the channel continues in use, even after hanging the call up, then i need to run the "soft hangup Zap/<zapchannel>" in the asterisk CLI to release the channel. Here is my zapata.conf: [trunkgroups] [channels] language=pt_BR context=default usecallerid=yes
