Microsoft will enter VoIP market in earnest
Thanks Curt, that's "too cool for school", any idea on when this is coming to the MS SBS platform? I use SBS for myself at home and would love that level of functionality included. Does Asterisk therefore handoff voicemail storage etc to Exchange for this level of integration? Cheers, Dean ________________________________ From: Curt Shaffer [mailto:cshaffer at

Microsoft will enter VoIP market in earnest next year, says Ballmer
http://www.siliconvalley.com/mld/siliconvalley/business/international/as ia/15944981.htm There's not much in the article so only click through if super interested but I'm curious and looking for people's opinions. What application integration would you like to see between MS (either Office or other aspects of the vista/xp OS) and Asterisk. Apart from dial from outlook and

While there are still open major bugs, they are relatively limited, and it was time to go ahead and get the 1.0 ball rolling in earnest. ftp://ftp.digium.com/pub/asterisk Enjoy the code. Special thanks to all the bug marshals and contributers and to everyone who has supported Asterisk

as.vector with mode="list" and POSIXct
I was trying to convert a vector of POSIXct into a list of POSIXct, However, I had a problem that I wanted to share with you. Works fine with, say, numeric: > v = c(1, 2, 3) > v [1] 1 2 3 > str(v) ?num [1:3] 1 2 3 > l = as.vector(v, mode="list") > l [[1]] [1] 1 [[2]] [1] 2 [[3]] [1] 3 > str(l) List of 3 ?$ : num 1 ?$ : num 2 ?$ : num 3 If you try it with POSIXct,

LLVM already has a large issue with implicit ABI contracts between Clang (and other frontends) and the various backends. We should not make that worse....

Apache 2.2 under CentOS?
We've been going through some growing pains fumbling through porting some custom C modules that used to live under apache 1.3 into the 2.0 spec, even though none of us really considers ourselves a 'C developer'. We've basically got them all working now under the 2.0 API, and the question was posed about whether or not we should consider attempting to upgrade everything to run

Installing Rails - gem file not found
I''ve been following the cookbook directions on the rubyonrails site but when I come to the install step; gem install rails --include-dependencies I get the message; Local gem file not found: rails*.gem It then goes and trys a remote install from rubyforge which never works even when I shut all my network secrutiy down. I did a search on rails*.gem and all I found was;

Unexpected behavior looping through sequence of dates
I understand that the two following loops should produce the exact same output. However, they do not. It appears that looping directly through the sequence of Date objects somehow makes them be coerced to numeric: > date1 = "20130301" > date2 = "20130302" > > d1 = as.Date(date1, format="%Y%m%d", tz="GMT") > d2 = as.Date(date2,

Announcing a new HA KVM tutorial!
Almost exactly two years ago, I released the first tutorial for building an HA platform for KVM VMs. In that time, I have learned a lot, created some tools to simplify management and refined the design to handle corner-cases seen in the field. Today, the culmination of that learning is summed up in the "2nd Edition" of that tutorial, now called "AN!Cluster Tutorial 2".

Resuming the discussion of establishing an LLVM code of conduct

Now you're contradicting LLVM's own description that it's a friendly community. Also: How many is "many, many", actually? How many of these are really in fear, how many are just trying

Dual Heads?
I decided to blow out the FC2 installation I inherited on my workstation when I started here and installed CentOS-4.4-i386. Server side stuff I pretty much have down cold, but getting two heads on two seperate video cards doesn't seem to work for me. I'm using the built in Intel 865/810 card as primary, and an ATI Radeon 9200 PCI card as secondary. Initially, my system bios on this

First Rails project: input welcomed
Hi everyone, I''m working on my first Rails project and I''d like some input before I get started coding in earnest. My previous Web app development experience has been in standard Python CGI and Zope. I''m here to find out more about Rails. I work in technology in an average-sized school district (8,000 students) in Minnesota (USA). One of the problems in our

[RFC][LLVM] New Constant type for representing function PLT entries
...have a target-specific plan in mind. If you go with your “unnamedfunc” approach, you’ll have to define the semantics of what that means, and it will need to mean something on targets without a PLT. If it isn’t generally implementable, then it is target specific again. I feel like you are trying (earnestly!) to make the IR better here, but by making this abstract it is actually just making it more opaque for no obvious benefit. > Implementation-wise, I imagine we don’t want this as a subclass of GlobalValue. As Peter suggested, this may not eventually lower to a symbol. If it were a GlobalValue,...

Installation counter
I've seen the question asked a few times already, along the lines of "Who's really using Asterisk out there, and what for?" or "Would Asterisk be right for me?" etc. I've been thinking about it more lately as I may have the opporunity to consult and/or install a system in the near future. I'm a bit apprehensive, as installing a system with a T1 PRI and a couple
