R OS X panther? (PR#5529)
...when I double-click on the "StartR"
application nothing happens. Nothing at all, no little icon bobbing up
and down in the dock, just nothing. What have I done wrong? I didn't
have to install the other packages did I?

Compatibility of external C code across platforms
...g in Windows XP with R2.9.2 and Rtools 2.9.
[Incidentally, when I use a makevars.win file to include these gcc options in Rcmd build etc. the problem with variable-length arrays is not flagged; maybe my command-line gcc is a different version from that in Rtools]

Vector-isation
...e a by b matrix which a and b are big numbers. How can I
convert this matrix into a vector with length of a*b ? By column-wise or
row-wise doesnt matter. My R version is 0.64.2.

Test Set Deviances
...test set using predict() to
get the probabilities. I understand how to attain the deviance of the
model fitted to the training set. But is there a way to get the
deviance within the test set?

Suddenly broken : connection unexpectedly closed
I always got this messages when I rsync to php.net
here's my command line and error messages :

User restriction on some client machines
Hi,
we have a Samba 3.0.24 server on a Fedora Core 5 system and we use it as PDC. I have client machines with Windows XP SP2.
What I want:
- some machines (for example machine1) should be used only by user1 and user2
- allow user3 to use ONLY some machines (for example machine2)
I tried the following:

Should gv be able to read bitmap(... type= "pdfwrite") ?

and then try to read it with gv, I get an unrecoverable error and
nothing displayed.
Any help as to whether this ***should*** work would be appreciated.

Principal comp. scores in R
Hello, I am trying to run a PCA in R and I cannot get the PC scores for
each of the values. Using pcX <- princomp(X) then loadings(pcX) I can get a
listing of the eigenvectors but not the actual PC scores for each value in
the dataset. I greatly appreciate any help anyone can offer
