Win2000 DUN via Asterisk (Is it possible)
All, What i'm trying to do is setup a windows DUN connection via my asterisk box and over PSTN or VOIP to my work. What I hoped i'd find was a vitual modem driver for windows 2000 that wouldtalk over sip to my asterisk box and then act like a normal modem so I can dial out from that to our RAS service at work. Any One got any ideas as VPN is...

rasapi32: Dial-Up Networking (DUN) and Remote Access Service (RAS)
Hello In the status site it is written that "most people just setup their Windows apps for LAN, then use their Linux tools to dial up." I'd like to do this too but I don't know how to setup my Windows apps for LAN. I tried but failed. It seemed to me that I need a network card to setup something for LAN in windows. But I admit that I didn' t understand too much from the

win95 client problems (registry limitation?)
...I've run across a problem that doesn't seem to be documented anywhere. It seems that OSR/2 clients (with all the M$ system updates; I already added the EnableClearTextPassword key) that have had their TCP/IP settings tweaked in the registry (eg, MaxMTU=576, TTL=32, RWIN added, etc) for DUN connections have mucho problems with a samba server on the LAN. Machines without the DUN tweaks work great browsing their home directories, eg, right-clicking on files to open them in an editor, etc. However, the machines with the DUN mods have problems opening files. Copying files back and...

Win98, DUN, and Samba
Does the PlainText password reg-hack for win9x work over PPP connections? I have a laptop that when connected to the lan, can access the samba server without issue, however, when dialed in to the internet, I get an "error 86: The password you specified is not correct..." from the win98 client when trying to access the same shares. The samba box has a world IP, and I can access it

I dun goofed...
So. I was having problems with WineTricks, and after fudging around with settings and whatnot, re-downloading it, trying to run it from the Terminal...I decided to uninstall both Wine and WineTricks. So I opened up the "Ubuntu Software Center", found both wine and winetricks and hit "remove". To my disappointment, it didn't actually remove it. (It seemed to

...st I didn't think it related to my browsing problem (but I guess no performance at all could be considered a performance problem, if you stretch it) but it turned out that my clients (all clients have modems as our only access to the outside world right now) which had been tweaked for good DUN performance were not working with the samba stuff. By good DUN performance, I mean the TCP/IP settings had been added/set in the registry. Normally, win95 has no settings except MTU=1500 (a default buried somewhere in the code) which is usually okay for a LAN, however, it sucks for dialup stuf...

Asterisk dialplan (and/or VM) via LDAP
...e a heavily invested LDAP shop and if I can demo an initial install that pulls telephony configs from LDAP it would really be nifty. I'd be happy to help in any way I can - I'm not much of a developer - but have some good design experience and I could test as well. Let me know... Here is my dun file. /etc/ppp/peers/dun # debug 57600 noipdefault proxyarp # IP address of PC : IP address to be assigned to Palm 192.168.0.1:192.168.0.2 # My DNS server ms-dns 127.0.0....

Need some speed help - Linux to Win98 is slow
I need some help from those folks I've seen on this list with the speed problems. I noticed while printing to a smb printer from my Linux box tonight (which I just managed to get running) that the speed is horribly slow. I did some tests - the results follow. Transfer from Win98 to Linux ---------------------------- smb: \> get 1mbyte.txt getting file 1mbyte.txt of size 1024702 as

iptables mangle table PREROUTING rule with -o flag
...device to query for the classes - but you can''t use -o with the PREROUTING list in the mangle table because normally it would make no sense. Would it be possible to modify iptables to allow -o device in the PREROUTING list if the device type is IMQ?? Does this make any sense?? John Dunning Asst Dir Net & Tech Svcs Wayne State College

I''m thinking something along a script to collect the data for mrtg or perhaps even an snmp module that would present them as interfaces to be polled....has anyone done any work in this area? Runtime error
Hi everybody! I try to implements Self-Organizing Maps with R and the Kohonen package. I have made an algorithm that try differents width and height. For each step, Silhouette index, Davies-Bouldin index and Dunn index are computed. However, there is always after severals minutes a *Runtime error* appears on the window: Microsoft visual c++ runtime library "this application has requested the runtime to terminate " or "R for Windows GUI front-end has encountered a problem and needs to close....

Using Dovecot-auth to return error code 450 (or other 4xx) to Postfix when user is on vacation
Hello to all members. I am using Dovecot for 5 years, but this is my first post here. I am aware of the various autoresponder scripts for vacation autoreplies (I am using Virtual Vacation 3.1 by Mischa Peters). I have an issue with auto-replies - it is vulnerable to spamming with forged email address. Forging can be prevented with several Postfix settings, which I did in the past - but was forced

PATCH: Public key authentication defeats passwd age warning.
...responses to this, I sure would appreciate it. In case y'all didn't see my request for help on comp.security.ssh regarding this matter, here's a little review: About a month ago I got the latest-n-greatest SSH available at the time (v3.9p1), which may still be the latest-n-greatest, I dunno, I haven't checked. In order to get passwd aging to work properly, I turned on ``UsePAM'' in the sshd_config file. This seemed to work fine in general except when using public key authentication. Actually, even using public key authentication, most everything worked fine WRT passwd...
