R RSS feed
I was trying to subscribe to an RSS feed from
<http://developer.r-project.org/RSSfeeds.html> but IE chokes on DTDs and
Firefox also has trouble with this feed. (I'm not sure if it has trouble
with DTDs in general.)
I went to one of our web developers to see what I should use to read the
feed, and he pointed out that the mix of RSS 2.00 and rss-0.91 looks
like a mistake:

InPlaceEditor: XHTML validation
It''s not a critical bug by any means, but shouldn''t InPlaceEditor put
DIV tags around the INPUT field? From what I can tell on the W3C
validator, INPUT has to be in a block-level tag for XHTML. Of course,
there are probably a zillion other things that wouldn''t validate, but
every little step helps...
Corollary question: Anyone know how to see what contexts a tag

...l problem is more "all or nothing" transmission than lack of
graceful degredation. synchronized lyrics are definitely in this category.
* this does require that the encoder be smart about the packetization.
However, I fully intend that we develop a small number of "blessed" DTDs
as part of a given mapping, and those can be designed with packetization
in mind and the break criteria hardcoded. I also suspect some simple
heuristics would work pretty well in terms of mapping a general document
tree onto the head-body-body-...-body-end structure.
So, what's next? I...

To be honest, I haven't experimented much with this, but I saw a normal shutdown/reboot when I just tried this from the command line (10.12):

Including iTunes data into ruby output of RSS2.0...?
Hey all,
I''d like to include the iTunes XML data into my RSS feed, generated with

xml.channel do

...ximum flexibility.
As I've said before, I think it's important to have at least some kind of
inline text markup. Raw text, even with unicode, is too limited. So we
waved the magic xml buzzword at the problem.
What I wanted to do was allow arbitrary xml streams in ogg, but specify
specific dtds for compliance with a particular mapping, if that's the
right term. Players would ignore unknown dtds, or optionally try to do
something intelligent with them (like feed them to a browser).
The problem with this is that there's no way to resume parsing of an xml
document after a dropped pa...

Random files in homedir gets deleted
On one of my systems I seem to loose a file or two from time to time.
Last night, one of my files (/home/online/sh/NattjobbPrivat.sh) was
deleted/removed/vanished. Another time it was /home/online/sh/daemon
that was deleted.
But I can't seem to find anything strange in the logs or in the history,
nor would any of my scripts running in crontab mess with those files.
Where can I look for

ALingA is a multitrack format
(http://www.ihear.com/dtds/ALingA/0.1/ALingA.dtd) which has a skeleton
track (what I call the co-ordinating stream), but one that is very
specific, and based on the notion of a Manifold. It is implemented in
the separate library libalinga, subclassing libogg++ to do the Ogg
stuff

Missing packages in centos8 mirrors or do I miss something?
Hi,
I need to port OSCAR Cluster and SystemImager softwares to centos8, but I miss a lot of package that seems to be built for centos-8.
For example, I cant find docbook-utils and docbook-utls-pdf while I see them here: https://koji.mbox.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=651
I?ve installed epel-release and elrepo-release and centos-release-stream.
Do I miss something or is it a matter of time

StatDataML
Hi,
we have a first draft of R functions reading/writing data to XML files
including a rather general DTD ... which borrows heavily from the data
types of a certain programming language :-)
The basic idea is to create an XML standard for data exchange,
together with import/export functions for as many applications as
possible. We here will need R, Matlab & Octave for our research
program,

package XML does not load in R 2.15.1
I am getting what appears to be an Unbuntu level error in trying to install the
XML package.
Both commands:
install.packages("XML:)
install.packages("XML", dependencies = TRUE)
give an error .
The full installation script is below but the problem to my very inexperenced eye seems to be here:

voice recognition xml
Anyone here technical enough to design a voice recognition voice xml
interchange for asterisk please email me; I've been speaking with a
contact of mine that is in the voice recognition space and he is
interested in 'donating' some technical support to the Asterisk
community to assist with this project.
This can only help benefit the Asterisk Community if this comes off.
