Question: HP LaserJet III
Here is my bit "o" problem:
We have an HP Laser Jet III with the postscript add on. We have been
using the printer under samba for while, but every print job, there is a
page that says %[LAST PAGE]% + other garbage. Does anybody know of any
hacks or fix's to get the printer / samba to get this system to not
print that last page.

R-devel Digest, Vol 34, Issue 5
actually, I can confirm now that gs AFPL 8.53 is the "culprit" here on #2,
copied below again (though it is not a bug but a feature, albeit one you
need to know about.) the -dSAFER switch, which appears in later versions of
AFPL gs, not only eliminates renamefile and deletefile (manpage), but
seemingly also allows only fonts in the GS_LIB path to be used
export GS_LIB=/usr/local/share/texmf/fonts/type1/yandy:$GS_LIB
fixes this protection problem for me. hope this will he...

ghostscript 8.64 errors.
Hello,
To fix some issues in working with gs 8.63 I had to upgrade to 8.64. I build the rpm from ghostscript-8.64-9.fc11.src.rpm. I get the following error when running
gs -q -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -dBATCH -dUseCropBox -dFirstPage=1 -dLastPage=1 -sOutputFile=/tmp/TIFF-%d.tif -r300 -sDEVICE=tiff12nc foobar.pdf

[RHSA-2001:112-07] Printing exposes system files to reading.

3. Problem description:
Ghostscript, a postscript interpreter, possess various 'file', 'run',
etc., commands internally. It also provides a -dSAFER flag to restrict the
use of the commands. However, the -dSAFER flag is meant to protect a user
from malicious postscript, not to protect a system from inappropriate
snooping by a user, and so it is still possible to _read_ files in the
SAFER mode.
In a print spooling context, even reading arbitrar...

font inclusions in pdf files
...racting the R-created graphics with gs. for some
odd reason, when I include these external lucida fonts, and create graphics
in R, the R-created pdf can no longer be distilled by gs 8.53, because it
stumbles into a safety issue. that is, all the gs scripts named 'ps2pdf*'
have the option -dSAFER on by default, which disables the renamefile and
deletefile operators, and it somehow prevents finding the fonts. (the bug
does not appear if I do not use the external fonts.)

Sending faxes with T.38 problem. Asterisk - 1.6.0.6
Hello,
I'm having difficulties to make Asterisk (1.6.0.6) interoperate correctly
with a CISCO mediaGW in order to send faxes to the PSTN using T.38.
When Asterisk sends the initial INVITE containing the T.38 media offer in
the SDP, the CISCO answers with a 488 Not Acceptable Media.
Apparently, it looks like a configuration problem in the CISCO, but I have
tested the CISCO with the Zoiper
