I think "based on the TSC" refers to whether TSC clocksource is being

...ough the install, which well
seemed to be vaquely documented as some ''Do this'' type of thing on
the http://rubyonrails.org/download page.

Follow the instructions on http://localhost:3000.

Advise Please.
Has this possibly got something to do with the fact that I am on
Windows XP and the install script is choking because of white space in

1.0.8 install trouble on Ubuntu dapper (PAM)
Hi,
I was running the Ubuntu dovecot package until now, and decided to
upgrade because of an issue with Thunderbird. I downloaded and
compiled 1.0.8, and it's not starting up. The error I'm getting is:
Dec 2 15:35:04 jfootoo dovecot: auth(default): Unknown passdb driver
'pam' (typo, or Dovecot was built without support for it? Check with
dovecot --build-options)

Can one of you explain what the code is even doing? From a couple of
attempts to read through it, it's a whole bunch of
probably-extremely-buggy code that, drumroll please, tries to
atomically read the TSC value and the time. And decide whether the
result is "based on the TSC". And then synthesizes a TSC-to-ns

Administrative Console Screencast
...ncasts.visualjquery.com/demo1/
I''ve posted a bunch about the Admin Console, but it''s essentially an
automated scaffold that works as an engine.
The screencast is a quick overview of the minor things you''ll need to do
in models, environment.rb, and others, as well as ::drumroll:: a demo of
the console in action.
Find out more about the Admin Console at

Volume of patches for CentOS vs Fedora
I'm trying to come to a decision between CentOS 4.2 and Fedora Core 4
for use on a server. One of the things the server will be serving is X
desktops so there are some advantages to Fedora.
However, one thing I can't help but notice is that the patch volume for
FC4 from Oct 11 2005 thru the present compared to CentOS 4.2 for the
same period is about 5 times greater. In fact, since

C function with unknown output length
Hi all,
Could anyone point me to one or more examples in the R sources of a C
function that is called without knowing in advance what will be the
length (say) of the output vector?
To make myself clearer, we have a C function that computes
probabilities until their sum gets "close enough" to 1. Hence, the
number of probabilities is not known in advance.
I would like to have an

[ANNOUNCE]: Release of nftables 0.2

new features, support for all new features contained in the recent 3.14
kernel release as well as *drumroll* documentation.

[patch 00/11] x86/vdso: Cleanups, simmplifications and CLOCK_TAI support
Matt attempted to add CLOCK_TAI support to the VDSO clock_gettime()
implementation, which extended the clockid switch case and added yet
another slightly different copy of the same code.
Especially the extended switch case is problematic as the compiler tends to
generate a jump table which then requires to use retpolines. If jump tables
are disabled it adds yet another conditional to the existing
