Has this possibly got something to do with the fact that I am on Windows XP and the install script is choking because of white space in the path, like in "Program Files"? -------...

1.0.8 install trouble on Ubuntu dapper (PAM)
Hi, I was running the Ubuntu dovecot package until now, and decided to upgrade because of an issue with Thunderbird. I downloaded and compiled 1.0.8, and it's not starting up. The error I'm getting is: Dec 2 15:35:04 jfootoo dovecot: auth(default): Unknown passdb driver 'pam' (typo, or Dovecot was built without support for it? Check with dovecot --build-options) D I used

From a couple of attempts to read through it, it's a whole bunch of probably-extremely-buggy code that, drumroll please, tries to atomically read the TSC value and the time. And decide whether the result is "based on the TSC". And then synthesizes a TSC-to-ns multiplier and shift, based on *something other than the actual multiply and shift used*. Administrative Console Screencast
...ncasts.visualjquery.com/demo1/ I''ve posted a bunch about the Admin Console, but it''s essentially an automated scaffold that works as an engine. The screencast is a quick overview of the minor things you''ll need to do in models, environment.rb, and others, as well as ::drumroll:: a demo of the console in action. Find out more about the Admin Console at http://trac.visualjquery.com/admin_console -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Volume of patches for CentOS vs Fedora
I'm trying to come to a decision between CentOS 4.2 and Fedora Core 4 for use on a server. One of the things the server will be serving is X desktops so there are some advantages to Fedora. However, one thing I can't help but notice is that the patch volume for FC4 from Oct 11 2005 thru the present compared to CentOS 4.2 for the same period is about 5 times greater. In fact, since

C function with unknown output length
Hi all, Could anyone point me to one or more examples in the R sources of a C function that is called without knowing in advance what will be the length (say) of the output vector? To make myself clearer, we have a C function that computes probabilities until their sum gets "close enough" to 1. Hence, the number of probabilities is not known in advance. I would like to have an

[ANNOUNCE]: Release of nftables 0.2
The netfilter project presents: nftables 0.2 This release contains a rather large number of bug fixes, syntax cleanups, new features, support for all new features contained in the recent 3.14 kernel release as well as *drumroll* documentation. All address related types now follow the naming scheme *_addr, all protocol related types *_proto and the network interface related type iface_*. The arphrd t...

[patch 00/11] x86/vdso: Cleanups, simmplifications and CLOCK_TAI support
Matt attempted to add CLOCK_TAI support to the VDSO clock_gettime() implementation, which extended the clockid switch case and added yet another slightly different copy of the same code. Especially the extended switch case is problematic as the compiler tends to generate a jump table which then requires to use retpolines. If jump tables are disabled it adds yet another conditional to the existing
