Delta RPMs (drpms) for CentOS-6 and CentOS-7
We are having issues with drpms on CentOS-6 i386 and x86_64 and on CentOS-7 x86_64. The technical issues sometimes cause us to have to rebuild all drpms over again .. and the time involved is very large.? Also storing the drpms and moving them around takes up a lot of space and bandwidth. We would like to remove delta rpms (drp...

Question around updates and drpms directory
...ice new 6.4 tree (thanks!!!) I see there are already a few updates. eg Packages/firefox-17.0.3-1.el6.centos.i686.rpm Packages/firefox-17.0.3-1.el6.centos.x86_64.rpm So far, so normal. These occur because of timing. That's not a problem; it's expected. What confuses me, though, is the drpms directory where there are 33 firefox drpm files compared to the 2 Packages, including firefox-3 versions! The drpms directory is around 3.3G whereas the Packages directory is only 680M. Is the drpms directory carrying legacy files? Or is this to be expected? -- rgds Stephen

Delta RPMs (drpms) for CentOS-6 and CentOS-7

Trivial exclude help
Hi list, Sorry for the exclude question... but I have been trying for hours to get this to work and am utterly baffled. I'm performing an archive transfer between hosts and wish to include anything in any directory named 'debug' or 'drpms' at any depth. I assumed this would be as simple as --exclude 'debug/***' --exclude 'drpms/***' but I still get files retrieved. Full option list is: rsync -aHi --no-o --delay-updates --delete --delete-excluded --delete- after --exclude 'drpms/***' --exclude 'd...

CentOS 5 and DRPM
Has anybody successfully implemented DRPMs on centos 5.x? I searched the net and I found a few indications that it is possible, but there is very little info how to do it. Just to be clear. With DRPMs i mean deltaRPMs. And with implementation i mean What yum plugins are necessary and what has to be done on the yum repository to make it wor...

For building my local repo, how large is 5.4 update?
...for some time. I suppose, at this point I could just delete the 5.3 update directory and rsync the 5.4 directory... But how large is the 5.4 update directory? Oh, just for i386, without /debug and is there anything else I should not include? For example for my FC11 update repo I also exclude drpms.

advice on having php 5.2.x:
Hi all, My goal is to have PHP 5.2.x on a centos virtual machine (LXC) Looking at the repositories: - 6.2 has php 5.3: ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.centos.org/6.2/updates/i386/drpms/ - 5.7 has php 5.1 ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/ftp.centos.org/5.7/updates/i386/RPMS/ I'll have to rebuild a source RPM in order to have what I want: - Which base should I install for a php 5.2 VM? 6.2 or 5.7? - Which release of CentOS had a php 5.2 source rpm that I could just rebuild without...

CentOS-announce Digest, Vol 170, Issue 4
