glm.fit() and binomial family
Hi all,
I'm interested in updating glm using glm.fit() (of course my final output is
different, but the problem is in glm.fit()). Then my function is, say:
fn<-function(obj,z){
X<-update(obj,x=T)$x
X<-cbind(X,z)
y<-obj$y
fam<-family(obj)
o<-obj$offset
contr<-obj$control
w<-obj$weights

Time Drop Downs
I''d like to create a dropdown for setting an attribute that is a time
type with an hour/minute/(am/pm) format (i.e. client does not want
military time). Is there already a library in Rails which does this
(I couldn''t find it)? And if not, has anybody done this already and
can point me in the right direction?

drop downs
I''m having trouble getting a second drop down populated based on the
value from the first drop down. I''ve tried following some of the
examples posted, but haven''t had any success. I''m new to RoR so any help
would be appreciated. When the first drop down''s value gets changed, it
calls the correct method in the controller and even finds the correct

dynamic drop downs for product search
Hey Everyone,
I''m about to embark on having a search function for the products on my
app via dynamic dropdowns. A dropdown for make would only leave
AVAILABLE models of that make. selecting year would only leave
available makes from that year etc etc.
Any suggestions or good read ups ?

Photoshop menus
Hi,
Wine 0.9.17 user here having bad headaches with Photoshop menus...
When choosing an option from the context menu or some other sorts of
drop downs, the respective areas are not clickable even they are
highlighted.
Other thing would be that when I'm opening Blending Options, set some
effects, then click OK, the tool windows is disappearing ...
Could you advise on this matter, please?

Fallback on-demand relay problem
We found an interesing issue that after a downed publishing point is
restored, the fallback relay doesn't stop relaying. We've tried everything,
but once /asf2 or /asf3 is envoked for /asf1 fallback reasons, they don't
stop relaying their source streams even though the output stream /asf1 has
returned to normal. Eventually we e...

No text displayed
Even though the applications seem to run smoothly on the backend, there
is no text displayed whatsoever. No text on buttons, no text in drop
downs, no text anywhere, period. This problem exists across all
programs being run and even affects winecfg. Both the latest corefonts
and fontforge packages are installed. I am assuming that this is some
sort of configuration misunderstanding, possibly

wine on RAM?
Hi,
Is there a way to run wine in RAM only using tmpfs? kinda like a portable application running from a flash disk?
I have a slow harddisk, and to alleviate the issue, I run Firefox Portable thru wine from RAM. However, I think wine running locally is causing slow downs when a few tabs are open etc.
Thanks

I'm listening to FLAC on my ipod!
Just to let you guys know, I've been listening to FLAC (compression
level 2 or lower) tunes on my 3rd generation ipod running ipodlinux
(modified uCLinux) for the past few days. No skips or slow-downs
whatsoever using MPD to play music.
It's pretty cool to be able to use my iPod for the first time in 7
months. (I could've dual-booted the Apple firmware, but nearly all my
music is in

MySQL index question
I am trying to speed up some DB operations and perhaps have gone overboard
with indexes. Does MySQL usually use only one index per query and simply
match keys on the results of the indexed first part? For example:
DELETE FROM tokens WHERE 6813946236211560448 <= fnv AND fnv < 6818449835838930944 AND updated_at<''2010-06-20 14:08:55'' AND occurrences=0;

ftrace_enabled set to 1 on bootup, slow downs with CONFIG_FUNCTION_TRACER in virt environments?
Hey,
I was running some benchmarks (netserver/netperf) where the init script just launched
the netserver and nothing else and was concerned to see the performance not up to par.
This was an HVM guest running with PV drivers.
If I compile the kernel without CONFIG_FUNCTION_TRACER it is much better - but it was
my understanding that the tracing code does not impact the machine unless it is

locfit version for windows NT version of R
Hi there,
I want to install locfit in R for Windows NT. I have recently downloaded
the file locfit.zip from
http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/R/bin/windows/windows-NT/contrib/
but it doesn't include any explanation on how to do the installation.
Have anybody done this? If so I'd really appreciate your help.
Cheers,

Dynamic drop-downs in a form_for using AJAX remote_function - Help
Hello -
I am fairly new to Ruby on Rails, but feel like I am learning quick.
I have what seems to be a fairly unique issue as I cannot find much
out there that describes what I''m seeing. Hopefully it''s a very
simple fix, and I simply can''t see the forest through all the trees!
I am attempting to create 2 related drop-down lists in the same
form_for, both using
