subscript out of bounds
I'm working on Human Exon Array 1.0 ST. I'm getting normalized data fine but I'm running into problems with QC. QCReport gives me the following error: > load(file= "huex10stv2cdf.rda") > exon.data at cdfName <- "huex10stv2cdf" > QCReport(exon.data, file = "QCReport.pdf") Error in as.vector(ans[[i]][, i.probes]) : subscript out of

Saving heatmaps as PDFs
Hi, I'm trying to save heatmaps as PDFs. However, the PDF version of the heatmaps (Heatmap_CAFvsTNF_run2.pdf) is blurred when compared to its counterpart, which was saved manually by using the software "Grab" (Heatmap_CAFvsTNF_run2.tiff). -----R code-------- sample_output <- "stroma_run2" filename <-

Add arrows to a filled.contour margin
Hi, I try to put an arrow to a filled.contour plot. I make this: filled.contour(volcano, color = terrain.colors,key.axes=F) arrows(0.95,0,0.95,1,lwd=2) This work, but the problem is that I find the coordinates at random try, for other graphic with other scale is other fight with coordinates. Anybody know a more easy or more generalized way to make this? Somethink like this

Bar plots with stacked columns marked with askterisks
Hi, I'm trying to plot bar graphs with stacked columns marked with askterisks for certain columns, which follow certain criteria. I've gotten the stacked bar plots with Data set A (please refer to code below). However, I haven't figured how to put asterisks on columns based on some extra information (such as "used/unused") as in Data set B i.e. asterisks at the

Puppetrun as normal user
What is required to allow running puppetrun as a normal user? The documentation implies that puppetrun has to be run as root to get access to the SSL certificates. What permissions need to be set to allow normal users (or a group of users) to perform puppetrun? Is it possible to create a more-public certificate that can only be used for puppetrun? We could use the ability to have developers

Re: winecfg Audio tab crash - OS X Snow Leopard
Evelyn Brent's life and career were going quite well in 1928. Following her divorce from producer Bernard Fineman, she was happily living with writer Dorothy Herzog. The couple was often seen enjoying lunch at the Montmartre Caf9, and Brent had recently had a cabin built in the San Bernardino Mountains. The tiny brunette actress had wowed film fans and critics with recent appearances in the

Version 1.9.18p8
I've recently installed Version 1.9.18p8 on a V2.6 Solaris x86 box. This system has an 8GB disk that I'm sharing out using Samba. After I map this share to a drive letter on my V4 NTWS, the properties for this drive reports that it is only 4GB. Is this a known "bug"? Other than the bogus information, will it have any adverse affects after the disk fills up to exceed 4GB used?

releasing locks
Sorry if this is in the docs somewhere, or listed in a faq or two, but I haven't gotten that far down in my list of things to do to look it up, so I'm asking all of you. I did look through the docs included with the distribution, but didn't see any reference. We are running 1.9.17p2 on Solaris, and occasionally (ok, more than occasionally) a user's pc will crash w/o properly

Mapping
I am a new user of R and am crunching through the system. I have reached an impasse with mapping; I want to make a bubble map and lay it over a grid that is composed of a standard x,y axis. Within this, are 16 (4x4) gridded blocks, numbered 1-16. And, within these individual hectares(1-16) it is further subdivided into individual x,y plots ( in accordance with the overall x,y axes). I have a

How do I get CRAM-MD5 to work?
I know how to ENABLE CRAM-MD5, but getting it to actually work? <http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/CRAM-MD5> It looks like I have to 1) manually create a CRAM-MD5 data file and, I suppose, 2) manually manage the file? Given I do not know user's passwords, this might be tricky. Currently I have users authenticate against MySQL (virtual users) or pam (local users). Or do i just ignore it

xcopy failures
Hi I had sent a mail about a week ago regarding a xcopy problem I had. I am trying to copy an image of an nt workstation from an unixware 2.1.3 server running samba 1.9.18p8. Initially the client is a dos client, who connects to the unixware server and downloads files using xcopy. My problem after copying a certain number of files xcopy fails with path not found. On further investigation I

Problem with group access to shares
I have a Solaris 8 samba 3.0 server. For over a year I have been running a share which has group USERS, so everyone in USERS group can map the share. Under this share there are several subdirectories that all have their own unique group for access. Example: Share is called [PROJECTS] UNIX dir structure PROJECTS owned by root grouped by USERS ENGINEERING

Cache Problems!!!!!
I've got a system setup where a Win95 client (written in Visual C++ 5.0) presents a user with a GUI that collects information about hardware that he/she would like to produce. This information is used to build a path to the directory that contains the files to load into one of the production machines. For example, through the use of menus and such the user indicates that they would like to run

More effective mailbox fetching over high RTT link
Could you offer some suggestion how to fetch mailbox content over high RTT link (with negligible packet loss)? Currently I use IMAP+IDLE *but* it fails to use full available bandwidth due to high RTT and "send command wait for response" nature of POP3 and IMAP4 protocols. -- [pl>en: Andrew] Andrzej Adam Filip : anfi at onet.eu Learning without thought is labor lost; thought

Update on spam, postfix, fail2ban, centos 6
I have been using centos 6 in a virtualized system for a few months now. Took a while to batten down the hatches with postfix, rbls, and to use fail2ban correctly. The mailserver for my website(s) are located on the http server as well..an 'all in one' server. DNS servers are separated. My two sites, and their emails addresses (1 for each) have been around for 10 and 15 years
