Switching to another Samba server
...l the new one is fully working I still have the
old one running on the other computer. Admittedly, I don't know what
every setting in the conf file does. So is it likely that, for certain
fields, identical settings on both machines would cause some kind of
conflict during a logon?

Anonymous access to Samba, or something like it?
...ly, my question is... Is
there a way in the smb.conf file to specify total anonymous read access
to a share, or to the server in general? Ideally, no matter what user
IIS claims to be, I want Samba to field the request and return the file
(read-only, of course). Does this make sense?

acroread = resource hog
Any have trouble with acroread taking up massive cpu and memory?
I exited my Firefox browser and the lil bastard was still hogging up
my resources.
Took up 69% of 4GB, and wouldn't let go, until a kill -9 showed'em,
have to do it every time I open a pdf in firefox.
Any use Xpdf or something else?

Ring All Queue
Is there a way in the dialplan to figure out which agent in a ring all queue answered a line? I'd like to take specific action based on the agent upon hangup.

standard install on OS 10.3.9 crashes on start without useful diagnostics (PR#8500)
Full_Name: Bob Donahue
Version: 2.2
OS: Mac OS 10.3.9
Submission from: (NULL) (204.152.13.26)
That's pretty much it. I did the most basic install possible, tried running the
package through the GUI and on the command line, it crashed hard, immediately,
with absolutely NO useful information as to WHY it crashed.

Acts_as_authenticated plugin?
Hi,
I''ve just downloaded the acts_as_authenticated plugin but I can''t find much
in the way of documentation.
First is there anywhere that someone could point me to to get a handle on
this.
Second.. Does the plugin still require the use of generators to use?
Thanx in advance
Dan

Load at 5, no CPU I/O or swap in use
We are currently running CentOS 5 update 4 on a Dell R910 server 16
cores/32 hyperthreaded with 64GB of memory. It is our main Oracle 11g
DB server for one of our customers and is attached to an MD 3000
storage array. We are having a load averaging around 5 but see no swap
in use, CPUs are pretty much idle and no I/O wait. We have Oracle
dataguard turned on in transactional mode. I've checked

Trillian On Wine?

sign-ons never happened, according to my other Gaim window.
Is there a known reason why it's not working? Is there something else I
need to do other than just '/path/to/wine /path/to/trillian.exe'? Any
help on this would be much appreciated, thanks.

Easy Newb Question
OK, so I have a link_to_remote. I am too dumb to figure out where I can
set a css class or id attribute.
<%= link_to_remote("X", :url => { :action => :destroy, :id => message },
:confirm => "Delete ''" + message.title + "''?",
:complete => "item_removed(''item_" + message.id.to_s + "'')") %>

Lost Sound after Firefox crash
My Firefox crashed and I lost sound, is there a way to release the lock
Firefox had on sound when it crashed?
I was streaming sirius radio at the time of the crash.
Is there a daemon I can restart? I could just reboot but I'm not windows
admin :)
I logged out of the GUI then back in, would restarting X clear it up?

prevent runaway PID taking down server (RAM/swap)
Is there a way I can prevent processes from taking up all the ram then swap
until the box crashes/freezes?
I'm using IEs4Linux and the wineserver seems to start taking up RAM until my
box dies, it happens slowly.
I am able to kill the sucker now, but I'd like to not have to worry about
that.

boot hangs on trying to start sendmail
I am building a new server. It will be a temporary firewall of sorts.
I am well into the config, made a lot of changes; almost ready to set it
up in the target networks, but now....
The system hangs trying to start sendmail. I was thinking hard about
disabling sendmail, but thought I needed it for internal functions, so
did not. yet.
So is there someway to get the system working so I can

Samba Authentication - User ID Pass-Thru?

stopping the services and unmounting the filesystem cleanly are critical.
The _only_ job of the file server on the back end is to protect the data.
If anybody has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
