Creating network bridge without IP address
Hi everyone!
I have the following setup:
domain0
|-domU1
|-domU2
|-domU3
I am running this with libvirt on a XEN server. Right now the server is connected to our office network, but later it will be in a hosted environment. I need domU1 and domU3 to have a public IP, and all of the domUs and the dom0 should have an internal IP address to communicate with each other. So...

For future hypervisors, i want to implement the same things with CentOS6.x + KVM. In test env i've setup CentOS6.2 + KVM (with last updates) with the same network config, but guest lose network connection very often, and i don't know why.

domUs dropping off the network (Xen 3.0.2)
Hello,
We''ve recently started seeing several domUs on multiple machines losing
all network connectivity. At least one of these machines (since they are
customer machines I can''t verify it for all of them) give the error:
$ sudo ifup eth0
eth0: full queue wasn''t stopped!
About the only Google hit for this message is:

Each Dom0 has the global LVM VG visible but only uses the relevant LVs
for its DomUs.
There are two open questions for me:
1. Is is possible to failover AoE from drbd1 to drbd2? Did anyone try
this yet? Normal drbd-setups use heartbeat with a virtual IP for
failover, but in this case I need...

RE: RE: VLAN and BRIDGE HELP

Hello James;
I was just checking all the recent help emails and found this particular one which is basically referring to a similar environment I would like to set up. Basically, in my scenario I am asked to set up three guest domains (domU1 - domU3). The first tow will provide web and mail services sequentially. And the last one will basically be the DBM server.
Since in a normal network environment domU3 should be on a protected subnet and the other tow on a dmz subnet, I have not been able to set up VLANs appropriately for them. I have prac...

Help for a confused newbie
Are there any instructions along with Xen demo CD. I tried it but the GUI is
unfamiliar to me ( I''ve used KDE ), right or left clicking didn''t bring up
any menus. I am pretty much lost as to how to proceed. I''d like set up a
couple logical volumes ( is LVM there on the demo CD ) and install a couple
of different distros and run them under Xen. Any pointers will be

Doubt on XEN memory management: please clarify
...ion:
dom0_mem=1024M implies that ''xl list'' shows that the dom0 has got 1024MB of
RAM reserved for itself. Are the remaining 7GB available for the domUs and the
host operating system?
i.e.:
this could be the case study:
1024M for the dom0
1024M for domU1
2048M for domU2
2048M for domU3
Total: 6144MB "occupied"
So, the 2 remaining GB would be available for the System or other 1/2 domUs
with 1/2GB of RAM each.
Of course memory ballooning helps to not crash the dom0, so the total amount
of assigned memory would hopefully be never at saturation point, but what does
such d...

Xen system hang or freeze
Hi all,
This is my first post to the list, I hope someone out there can help!
I am running xen 3.0.3, with CentOS 5.2 based Dom0
(kernel-xen-2.6.18-92.1.22.el5)
Recently I have noticed some complete system lockups on a few different
servers. Neither Dom0 or any of the guests respond to pings, connecting a
keyboard and monitor to the system only shows a blank screen. Nothing is
written to logs
