strsplit and the empty string
Hello,
I am wondering about the behaviour of strsplit. When the pattern
matches the beginning of the search string, the mepty string is added to
the result, but that's not the case when the pattern matches the end of
the search string:
strsplit(" hello dolly ")
[1] "" "hello" "dolly"
The man for strsplit explains the algorithm:

More on Problems with PXELinux and ramdisk not loading
Had to changed the Subject header because the mailing list software thought the previous one ("so old bootloader" ...) was suspicious.
Just a backgrounder and a little more info I've gathered:
Trying to install Fedora Core 3 via PXE using DHCP-TFTP. Kernel loads but initrd isn't used for rootfs.
The machine's an AMD Athlon 64-based box with 512MB physical memory (one DDR

Intermittent process crash serving files
We have been using SAMBA for file/print servers and domain controllers
in Windows networks for several years. At one site, we have
intermittent problems in which the connection to the SAMBA server
appears to die: i.e., no one can connect to the share, and the Windows
clients (Terminal Servers and workstations) apparently keep re-trying to
connect which ultimately locks up those clients.

DO NOT USE Software Raid1 and Ext3
Conclusion:
DO NOT USE SOFTWARE RAID-1 WITH EXT3
I've started with this conclusion cause i am positive that raid-1 and ext3
are causing data corruption.
I've upgraded from 7.1 to 7.2 and from the first date i run into data
corruption problems @ least once per day (i was monitoring once per day
only) after 7 days we bought a brand new server cause the previous was very
old and i thought

weird table pluralization problem
When I created a new project and a "equipment" model for an unknown
reason to me rails tried to query the table "equipment" and not
"equipments", does someone know why it did that ?
So I added
set_table_name "equipments"
in the model class and it now works but I don''t really understand why it
is required in the first place...

Queues
Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for help/ideas on how to do the following:
I have a couple of people out of many (the couple of people randomly change) who log into an "on-call" queue. A call comes in and it rings the "on-call" extensions, but no one answers. I would like the call to then try the cell-phones of just the people that are logged into the "on-call"
