tm: custom reader for readPlain
Hello:
I have a series of newspaper articles from a Canadian newspaper database (Canadian Newsstand) that look just like below.
I've read through this vignette (http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/tm/vignettes/extensions.pdf) about creating a custom reader to extract meta-data, but I can't understand how to apply this in the context of a text document, rather than in the tabular format

Replacing a file turns off group and world read permissions
...this share by
certain methods on an Ubuntu client, the permissions get set to 733
(-rwx-wx-wx), so the file is then unreadable (and undelete-able) by a
guest. The problematical methods are dragging a repeat of the same file
into Nautilus file browser, or performing a repeat save as from Evince
DocViewer, (which means it's a particular nuisance with PDF files), but
not saving from other apps as far as I can see. There's no problem with
Windows clients.
The samba log shows that in these cases the file is opened with read=No
write=Yes, then opened again with read=Yes write=Yes, then close...

howto monitor disks on a serveraid-8k?
Hi,
I'd like to monitor the disks connected to a ServeRaid-8k controller in
a server running Centos 7 such that I can know when one fails.
What's the best way to do that?

Clearcase, Samba, and mnode values
Hi all --
I recently temporarily deployed an upgraded Clearcase server (7.1.2.3)
on 64 bit RHEL 5.6. With it I was using Redhat's release of Samba for
that version of the OS -- 3.0.33. The system has 32 GB of memory
and within 12 hours, it would be down into swap. Maximum active
licenses used is 36 but a more typical load is 18-25 users having a
Clearcase license at once. Clearcase

It's been a long time since I worked with ServeRaid, and things may have changed in the meantime.
IBM used to have a an iso with ServeRaid related tools (ibm_sw_srapp_.....) that included Linux

groups issue with openssh (all versions since at least 3.8), AIX 5.3 and NIS
Hello
We are have a massive performance issue in our environment since a while. SSH logins simply take 30 s to 1 minute to give a
prompt, telnet are instantaneous. After doing a few tcpdump and comparisons between telnet and ssh connections, we noticed
that in average a ssh connection is generating over 12000 nis sessions, scanning basically all the group.byname table a few
times and we got a

Ady: You seem to be taking (copy$paste) parts and pieces from different resources.
Luke: Nope. The configuration works fine with PXE 2.01 clients, it's the UEFI PXE 3.2 that is having issues with the dhcp requests. The gospel is the Intel PXE 3 spec I'm RTFMing now. No copy and paste, I just started with someone elses configuration file that claims to support UEFI - or at least hopes to

tzdata
I read a few days back on the list where the tzdata rpm was to take care of
the new DST rules. I run CentOS 3 servers, and did a 'yum update tzdata' ,
but received a 2006a update of the rpm.
Is this proper? It sure didn't fix anything.
Thanks

Excel 'Document not saved' Error when using SMB2 Protocol
Hi Samba Users,
I'm in the process of building a Samba4 CTDB /GPFS Cluster joined as a
member server to AD that also supports ACL's .
It has taken some time but almost everything is working now :) . My one
outstanding issue is editing files using Excel 2007 on Windows 7 results in
a 'Document not saved' error. I believe this is an issue with the SMB2
protocol as I can edit the same

No rule to make target all.R, needed by compiler.rdb building R 3.4.1 from source, Scientific Linux release 6.9 (Carbon)
Hello,
I am trying to build R from source on Scientific Linux release 6.9
(Carbon), Linux version 2.6.32-696.3.2.el6.x86_64 (Red Hat 4.4.7-18).
I load the needed modules and run:
*./configure --prefix $install_dir --with-blas --with-lapack
--enable-R-shlib 2>&1 | tee config-R-$version.log*
The "configure" command seems to run ok:

The amazing smartctl -a /dev/hda
I finally fixed my drive error problem. This has been going on quite a

kernel: blk_cloned_rq_check_limits: over max segments limit., Device Mapper Multipath, iBFT, iSCSI COMSTAR
Hi,
WARNING: Long post ahead
I have an issue when starting multipathd. The kernel complains about "blk_cloned_rq_check_limits:
over max segments limit".
The server in question is configured for KVM hosting. It boots via iBFT to an iSCSI volume. Target
is COMSTAR and underlying that is a ZFS volume (100GB). The server also has two infiniband cards
providing four (4) more paths over SRP

[LLVMdev] Optimization on Atomics (and the OpenMP memory model)
Hi everyone,
The OpenMP standards committee has begun work to formalize their memory model, and define its relationship to the C/C++ memory models. A questionnaire has been put together (pasted below), and I'd like everyone's help in composing detailed answers to inform their decision-making process. While our OpenMP support is still in active development, many of these questions apply

Gene,
I found a document from IBM that explains why it didn't like Vendor-Class-Identifier option I was using "PXEClient" was causing EFI boot rooms to dummy spit, that's very useful, that combined with RTFMing the PXE specs 3.0-3.2 might solve my problem if I keep at it.

Gene,
As it happened I started working on this again just as you mailed me.
It appears that PXE-E99 may also be related to MTFTP part of the PXE spec. IBM also says it has something to do with jumbo frames. I tried setting PXE.mtcp-ip to 0.0.0.0 to disable it but still no joy.
The bootfile size shows up as zero because that relates to "option boot-size" in dhcp and doesn't seem to
