...the RCurl package with R 2.8.1, and when I try to use the function FTPUpload, it uploads the file but does not stop. It repeats the content of the file without stopping and the destination file keeps getting bigger and bigger. Since upgrading to Fedora Core 3 the jobname for the files being printed to our PDF CUPS backend have become the Samba jobname as in "SMBPRN.888009.hjdcl" instead of the application filename such as "Microsoft Word - Document1.DOC". This stops us from providing a properly-named PDF file to our users. Our other server that is still on Core 1 does not have this problem. I've seen other mentions of this problem going back several years but no definitive answer. Can anyone advise what action to take? Thanks,...

On my old version on samba, the spool names seen both from what you get with an lpq command and also what you see in windows seemed to be determined by the application printing. MicrosoftWord-Document1 for example. Now, samba is naming all the spool files smbprn.1, smbprn.2... I've looked around everywhere, but I can't seem to find an answer.
