Require on stored resources
Hi, is there a way to do something alongs the lines of Exec { "assembleBINDZoneFile": ... require => [File["${bindzoneassemblyscript}"], Dnsrecord[ <<| |>> ] ], } I''ve written a DNS record Type/Provider. Exporting Dnsrecord resources with @@ also works nicely. Before the zonefine gets assembled, I want to make sure that puppet first collects

Samba 4 internal DNS - how to modify SOA record
Hello, I have the very same problem, does anybody know a way? I am thinking of converting to BIND, modifying and then converting it back to Internal DNS implementation. >>>> Hello. How could one modify a SOA record in rc3? For example, NS part (not NS record) of SOA record points to an absent Windows server. This effectively breaks DNS updates, since there is no such server and if

Samba + BIND9 DLZ. DNS dosen't resolve FQDN, only short hostname
Thank You Rowland. I did it like You say, killed avahi, added the record without domain suffix, but nothing changed, and the record seems no different compared to other records added with the suffix some time before. My Samba DNS record looks like this (and I see nothing special in there):   Name=, Records=3, Children=0     SOA: serial=39, refresh=900, retry=600, expire=86400, minttl=3600,

DsReplicaSync failed - WERR_LOGON_FAILURE // Failed to bind to uuid for ncacn_ip_tcp - NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
Hello All, I just discovered that the last I unfortunately I send only to Louis - not the list. So below are my answers included (and log outputs that were requested). Never the less in meantime I have investigated further into SAMBA & winbind. I was able to setup samba dc based on previous instructions and guidelines successfully. I additionally setup a debian samba member with winbind.

deleting dynamic dns records

Samba + BIND9 DLZ. DNS dosen't resolve FQDN, only short hostname
Well, the mystery is solved. It WAS Avahi, in a way... Eventhough it was disabled as a daemon, it still haunted the system by the means of nsswitch.conf In the 'hosts' line, the Debian default entry 'mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return]' does exactly what we don't want - for .local domains it asks Avahi and if it dosen't know, it never asks the other services, such as dns etc.
