...power and ethernet in the corner (or where ever I have room) and go through the install. I know it also works with a cd as a source (if you use it from cd 1), and assume it would also work with a DVD (have not tested yet). If you would like it, I can add to the wiki if anyone would like it. DNK

Good day all, CentOS 5/Latest Vanilla Samba that comes with CentOS. small "$" issue with samba on centos 4x [dnk]
Good day..... This is a slightly older issue for me. In the past I had tried to install Samba on a centos 4.0 box, and the useradd tool on Centos 4 would not add the "$" character to the usernames being created. This showed up whenever a domain trust was trying to be established for a computer that was logging into the samba share for the first time. Maybe I messed something

I know you can use ldap, or winbind, etc. I have been trying to follow the ones I have been googling, but none of them seem "quit complete. My issue is that I have no ldap experience. Dnk

disable media check on custom cd [dnk]
On a previous thread I was working on a custom install disk that would boot directly into a vnc install - well I have the disk working exactly as I need it EXCEPT for 1 thing... the option to do a media check pops up... however as per my original email - there will be no keyboard/mouse/monitor attached during install... so I can not press the "skip" option. Now to get the VNC install to

Centos kernel c headers [dnk]
Good day -- I am having a go at installing VMware on my centos 4.2 machine. I am going through the configuration script and I am getting to the part where I need the c headers for my kernel. What package do I need to install to make these available, and where are they installed to? I have been searching for this with little luck. Thanks in advance. Dustin

possible bug 5.1 - possibly more of a package issue
...So I was going to just groupinstall in the Gnome Desktop. # yum groupinstall "GNOME Desktop Environment" Now while processing the dependencies, it fails out with a dependency for libgaim.so.0 (for package nautilus-sendto). So I tried... # yum provides libgaim.so.0 No results. Ideas? dnk

CentOS 5 PPC
There has been some discussion about PPC on this list, and I was looking at the CentOS homepage, and it states that support for the PPC architecture is in progress. Is there actually a V5 (CentOS) PPC download? I have been looking for it on the site without luck. For example http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/isos/ only has i386 and x86_64. I have an old G4 with dual processors I want

Can only see files one level deep
