Build associated model confusion
I''m new to Rails3, and I''m just trying to get one last thing to work before I call it a night. The situation is the following (please if the code is horrible, just let me know, still learning): I want to log a dive. I might have a new location on that dive at which point I have to create a new Location, and then create the dive. A dive has_one location. A location has_many dives. Currently the foreign key is on dive as location_id. How do I properly, in my dives_controller, generate the location, get the ID,...

Hi all, I have a 2 files, one with a series of beginning and end times of animal dives in (lets call it dives). The other file is readings from a time-depth recorder, there is a datetime reading for every second, a temperature and light level reading (lets call it tdr). Now I want to say from the file dives, using the start and end time of the dives, go to the tdr file and find me...

Help requested for Aeris Dive Computer interface
Hi, I'm attempting to run the Aeris Dive Computer interface (ACI V2.x) using WINE under Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jakalope release on an ASUS 1000HE netbook. However, it doesn't seem to be working very well. the install process seemed to work fine. It successfully created an icon under the WINE application for the interface. On startup o...

ZFS Internals Deep Dive - Where can I find it?
The September 16, 2006 entry in Jeff Bonwick?s blog says ?Bill Moore and I will host a four-hour deep dive into ZFS internals at the 2006 Storage Developer Conference in San Jose.? Were the contents of this deep dive ever published in a document or video? If not, will there be another ZFS internals deep dive in the future? I have found Jeff Blanchard?s ZFS deep dive at http://www.austinsug.org/uploads/...

Species accumulation curves with differential sampling effort
Hello! I'm a PhD student working with coral reef fish diversity in Mexico. I want to do species accumulation curves but I have differential sampling effort for each "sample". Do you know or have developed an R script that consider the differential effort of each sample? PRIMER and other programs use each pack of species as a replica without the p...

Missing p-values using lmer()
Hello, I’m trying to perform a REML analysis using the lmer() function (lme4 package). Well, it seems to work well, except that I’m not getting any p-value (see example below). Exception Handling Deep Dive at Dev Meeting
I think David and I are probably the most familiar with how WinEH works in LLVM, but I don't think either of us has time to prepare a talk for the dev meeting. I'm trying to prepare a talk on supporting the MS debug info format in LLVM this year. That said, I'll definitely have time to answer questions in person. It might be worth setting up a BoF to schedule some time We gave a 30m

Exception Handling Deep Dive at Dev Meeting
I'm proposing that one of the esteemed members of the LLVM community present a talk on exception handling both how it is done inside LLVM and in general. The interest from my part is the Windows Exception Unwinding which from what I read is like Itaniums. It also looks like this is the one implemented in LLVM and most everyone cares about. I understand in the face of optimizations the

Switchtower for distribution?
I am just about to dive into Switchtower, but had a thought (go figure?). Could Switchtower use be inverted? Could user, clients, or customers install switchtower and "pull" applications? Just a thought. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.
