adding new bricks for volume expansion with 3.0.x?
...mounting the volume using the ip.of.first.backend:/volume syntax in fstab where the first backend server provides the general volume to the clients. Looking at some of the past mailing list chatter, it seems scale-n-defrag.sh is what I need, but it's unclear as to how to go about this without distruption to services on the other clients. If I bring up a new client server, copy the vol file and mount that vol using that volfile temporarily to run the defrag, do I have to make all the existing clients also mount that exact same vol file while this is running? Or can they keep running on their...

[RFC] Extension to TableGen's AssemblerPredicates to support combining features with ORs
...m.org/D74338. AssemblerPredicates are used in four parts of TableGen, three of which only affect TableGen'erated code, and one is RISC-V specific so these changes are not very intrusive. For AsmWriterEmitter/MCInstPrinter to work with these changes, I've made what I think may be a minimally distruptive change, but I'm happy to hear any alternative ideas on how to express this to the AsmWriter alias condition code. I look forward to any ideas and feedback. Thanks, Simon

egress bandwidth not limited / limited extremely inaccurately
I''m just-so-fresh to the list, so hello everyone. I''m having a realy hard time with setting up very simple bandwidth management. What I am trying to do is setup a 10Mbit interface to send at only 1920kbit to most of the network (to make sure it hardly ever tops 2mbit). I did succeed with the ingress traffic... With egress however, I get very odd results at different speeds. With

KDE-3.5 beta1
...eta 1 yet. I started mucking about with them on my CentOS 4.1 box, but none of them want to compile. They'll configure ok, but when I run the make command I just get a lot of errors. what I'd like to do is compile and install them in /opt so that I could run this version to test it without distrupting my current installation of KDE. (kde 3.4) which leads me to another question... which package to compile and install first? kde-base? -- Mark ----------------------------------------------------------- Paid for by Penguins against modern appliances(R) Linux User Since 1996 Powered by RHEL 4

Off line folders
I may be able to help on this one...we were having a similar problem and just last week cured it. (I hope!) I had to do two things: 1). On the clients having this problem, edit this registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\NetCache\GoOff lineOnSlowLink". If it's not there (as in my case) you may have to add the last key. Make sure it's a

Patches for Cray T3Es running Unicossmk and SV1s running Unicos
This patch is against Cray patch against openssh-SNAP-20010710. Here a few notes about them: 1) rijndael does not work on cray due to the fact it is rooted in 32 bits. I looking for a fix, it may come form Wendy Palam. For now the cray default to the following cihpers for ssh version 2 ssh are: 3des-cbc,blowfish-cbc,cast128-cbc,arcfour 2) Crays don't have setitimer so I

Follow-on to Charles Levert's <charles at comm.polymtl.ca> work on utmp_write_direct. Fixed: -- At logout, the utmp entry is cleared. Tested on SunOS 4.1.4. The code I added to loginrec.c is restricted to SUNOS4 pending QA testing on other platforms. This patch incorporates the work done by Charles Levert on 7/25/2000 00:43:22. (Do any of us sleep at

Replication problem I have. And how I think I can get around problem.
...n 1 server id. Ie a server gone for good remaining server gets told to take over responsibility for the old servers id messages. New replacement server given a new id and everything keeps on going nice. Anyone else with a better idea or advice how to add my own custom ids in a way they cannot be distrupted and are simple to search. If it works push for server id's in imap5? Ie imap5 clients being able to cope with the event that an email store is spreed between multi servers that may not be connected all the time. Peter Dolding

Is there a difference ...?
Doh123, how is running a program off an NTFS partition asking for trouble? Ntfsprogs seems to handle it just fine. I know that NTFS doesn't let you mark a file as executable, and that the filesystem is susceptible to fragmentation, but you should just be able to tell it to run rather than display and be good. It shouldn't cause destruction. I think there might even be an NTFS defrag tool
