distictive Ringing in SIP
Hi all, I want to configure a SIP Channel to send Alert-Info with the INVITE. Right now I have added an extension like so: exten=>4444,n(ring5),SIPAddHeader("Alert-Info: R0") But there is no Alert-Info in the INVITE. Any idea how I can get this working? Seems a very basic error.. Thanks. Sandip -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

logging to syslog does not distinct between errors notice and warning.
...puppetd on a client with -l console I see things like: ... warning: //Node[default]/packages/ notice: ... err: ... ... Here puppet makes a distinction between errors, notice and warning. But it I run puppet without the -l option, I see the entries in /var/ log/messages. But there puppet makes no distiction between errors, warnings etc....: Nov 19 10:26:12 puppetd[28676]: Starting catalog run Nov 19 10:26:24 puppetd[28676]: (//Node[default]...Failed In my optinion it should be: Nov 19 10:26:24 puppetd[28676]: err: (//Node[default]...Failed or something similar. cannot change distinctive ring polycom phones
Hi, I'm using asterisk 1.2.1 on a debian sarge distro. I've followed notes in http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Polycom+auto-answer+config and http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=OptiPoint+600+SIP+-+Distictive+ring+using+ALERT_INFO but I still cannot change ring style via asterisk using exten => 666,1,SipAddHeader(ALERT_INFO="ring3") in extensions.conf . Is it

[LLVMdev] Porting LLVM backend is no fun yet
As we've already seen, David Chisnall prefers hacking LLVM over GCC (see http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=1215438): "In contrast, every time I look at the GCC code, it takes two people to prevent me from clawing my eyeballs out." I'm sorry to report that so-far I have had the opposite experience. Some years ago, I ported binutils (via CGEN) and GCC to an

[LLVMdev] Porting LLVM backend is no fun yet
Hi Greg, I understand your frustration. I've been on this mailing list for a little over a year hoping that by osmosis I could get a a better handle on writing a back end for LLVM. Although I feel more comfortable with the nomenclature, I still do not have a clue as to how to begin (actually I do, but it sounds more dramatic saying it this way). I've read the documentation, but

Issue with adding machines to domain
Okay, here's the situtation I have a samba server (2.2.3a) which is the PDC for a domain with approximately 60 windows 2000 clients. Up until recently I haven't had any problems with using it for roaming profiles and domain authentication, however since last thursday I have not been able to successfully create machine account that would work. When following the procedure that has worked

serious security problem in XKB
The Neverending Story of X11 Insecurity continues... Summary: On a system where X11R6.3-based Xserver with XKEYBOARD extension (R6.1 is probably affected too) is run in setuid or setgid enviroment (e.g. typical XFree86 installation has XF86_* installed setuid root), local users can exploit a "feature" of XKB implementation to execute arbitrary commands with the extra privileges.

ERP software
I was just playing around with the R-streams package, reading in some data from an old experiment we did here, and was again amazed by the flexibility of the R environment. The eaze with wich I was able to generate simple plots of my EEG data made me wonder if someone tried to implement an ERP package. For the non-cognitive scientists ou there: EEG is electrical activity measured from the scalp

caller id ring tones for Asterisk Phone
I'm going to be rolling out asterisk at a small office and one requested feature was the ability to have a phone that can be configured so that ringtones can be configured according to the callerid of the caller. Does anyone have Asterisk experience with such a phone? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

R.squared in summary.lm with weights
Following some old advice on this list, I have been reading the code for summary.lm to understand the computation of R-squared from a weighted regression. Usually weights in lm are applied to squared residuals, but I see that the weighted mean of the observations is calculated as if the weights are on the original scale: [...] f <- z$fitted.values w <- z$weights [...] m
