Loading shared RPC modules failed
I am testing Samba 4.5.0rc2 on a Solaris 10 i386 box. log.smbd contains a new message/error that does not show up on Samba 4.4.5. The error is: [2016/08/26 11:45:54.886237, 0] ../source3/rpc_server/rpc_service_setup.c:539(dcesrv_ep_setup) dcesrv_ep_setup: Loading shared RPC modules failed Dispite that, Samba 4.5.0rc2 seems to work correctly. Is this a problem or not? Tom Schulz Applied Dynamics Intl. schulz at adi.com

intervals on plot
...als by using the bottom code: > breaks <- factor(cut(col3,breaks=360+5*(0:155))) > par(tck=0,lty="solid") > plot(breaks, ann=FALSE,axes=FALSE) col3 is just a column of 1500 floating point data. Unfortunately when i do the plot, the x-axis has some of the intervals as labels dispite me having both 'ann' and 'axes' both as FALSE. Could anyone tell me how to remove these from my plot or how to bypass this altogether, maybe by changing the names of the intervals to something else. Thanks to all of you for any help. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-....

Before Packages were introduced, everyone compiled from source. That was a pain, and a long process, especially when you had dependancies that you also had to compile. Packages eased this process but kept the dependancy issue. Package managers got round (mostly) both the dependan...

MANAGESIEVE patch v2
Hello Timo, Dispite the heat out here, I managed to come up with a new version of the managesieve patch for dovecot-1.0rc2: - Fixed the bug (missing CRLF) in the authenticate command - Modified the sieve storage library making the interface much less crude. - The scripts put on the server using the putscript command...

AIX 7.1 Samba 3.6.23 Windows 2003 Server AD
...so please excuse my noobieness. At some point in going from an early Samba to the later 3.* series I found that I had to rejoin the domain. I did not have to remove the machine from the domain first, I just joined again. Also, I found it necessary to specify 'password server = ourserver' dispite the fact that the documentation says that this is not necessary with 'security = domain'. I think that this has something to do with our AD server being a Windows 2000 machine. I have not done anything with kerberos or LDAP or any thing special. Samba 4.2.0rc4 can't authenticate users
This problem shows up on both Linux and Solaris. I am going to show the logs from a Fedora 2.6.25-14.fc9.i686 machine. We are using 'security = domain' with a Windows 2000 domain controller. We are setting 'password server = starfish2' dispite the fact that the documentation says that this in not necessary as we have found it to be necessary. We are setting 'workgroup = adi'. I installed Samba 4.2.0rc4 in the same location as a previous 4.1.7 installation after removing everything in bin, sbin & lib. We are running just nmbd...

New mail server slow connecting to web server
...eb server. Whatever tried to connect suffers from a delay, and either times out or works eventually. I started off with problems connecting Exim to Postgresql on the web server. I then found that I couldn't connect using psql, or using Perl DBD-Pg. I then found I couldn't SSH or SCP, dispite them both being on the same subnet. The more I use the new system, better it appears to be, but the delay is still there. name resolution isn't the problem as I can nslookup both ways without problems, and specifying IP addresses makes no difference. For testing I have disabled the firewa...

Samba - Mounting Shares from Win95 clients
Here is other question which I have hard time trying to set up which I am not very successful with dispite reading the documentations and trying to configure it. Here is the setup which we have for our network. We have 3 Win95 Boxes which one has 2 printers attached to it which is basically the printer server. I would like to use that printer services from Linux. Two of the Win95 Box...

Disk images
Hello! We are planning to migrate our iSCSI installation (LUN based) to one NFS installation (based in images). iSCSI offers great performance, but we have many dom0s and domUs and the management is difficult (many LUNS, many multipath messages, ...). (We are using Debian Wheezy with Xen 4.1.2) I have some questions: -What formats of disk images support Xen? I have not found support for

acts_as_versioned and qa
Hi, I have Article model and it has aasm_column qa, that is initially "pending". In order to get it reset qa column on new versions, I have made: def set_new_version write_attribute(:qa, "pending") end But now the aasm methods are also triggering the new version, dispite: self.non_versioned_columns << ''updated_at'' self.non_versioned_columns << ''created_at'' self.non_versioned_columns << ''qa'' self.non_versioned_columns << ''published_at'' How to make the approve! m...

ActiveRecord belongs_to ActiveResource
...h no problems until, as usual, testing. Specifically functionally test the things_controller. The things controller is simple scaffold, however, having the association to an active resource model causes functional tests to error because they don''t make the required request to the resource, dispite using the ActiveRecord::HttpMock... mechanism in the functional test. So I have three questions really. One, is this type of relationship something that we can expect to work in rails? Or am I running off the rails here? Two, assuming that this is an acceptable use case. Using TDD, as apposed to B...

smbmount on redhat 9
...g right away. The fact that some calls to smbmount do not return to the command line means that a script like mine which calls smbmount several times in a row will not work. smbumount is able to unmount these shares without a problem. Using smbumount causes these stray processes to finally die. Dispite this problem, connecting to a share always works the first try. I am always able to connect. However, after a while if I have kill the stray processes, a share that has not been used for a while will eventually quit working and df shows an IO error. Mounts that are continuously in use do not fai...
