Exotic tag proposals?! Do you mean the ones linked from the wiki? As

My little tools, if you're interested... :)
...y are designed to use in Grip.
w_oggenc:
Call this instead of oggenc in Grip with the command-line:
"%A" "%d" "%t" "%a" "%n" "%y" "%G" "%i"
Now you can put additional info in the "Disc title" field:
{DISCTYPE,DISCNUMBER,DISCNAME}
Example 1: "Fragile {2CD,2,Right}", which means that the album is called
Fragile, it's a doublecd (2CD), the second disc which is called "Right".
Example 2: "Kick Da Bucket {CDS}", which means it is a cd-single.

FLAC: ERROR, MD5 signature mismatch
Hi
I have downloaded a FLAC file somewhere and when trying to decode it to WAV
it gives the error message: ERROR, MD5 signature mismatch
So my question is now: are FLAC files that give the error message above
still decodable to WAV (and how can you do this, because flac.exe doesn't
want to decode the file), even if there is a MD5 signature mismatch, or is
this not possible at all?
thx

Yes. I know of only three uses of extensions to the standard
set of vorbiscomments in the wild:
1. Rhythmbox makes use of the DISCNUMBER field. It cannot be
set by the user (must use another program to set the info).
2. REPLAYGAIN is understood by a few players (can't remember if
Winamp or Directshow filters will do it). Command line tool
or foobar2000 to set them.
3. Musicbrainz tags. Only Musicbrainz software...

RECORDNUMBER

Hi!
I am going to encode almost 2000(!) CDs to OGG soon and I will use the tag
RECORDNUMBER (as opposed to TRACKNUMBER) to indicate which record in a
multi-cd-album it is. Maybe I'll also use the tag RECORDNAME if the record
also has a name (eg Nine Inch Nails/Fragile's records are called Left and
Right).
Please make this tag (at least

Goal #2 tags. These tags help the user in specifying the exact
source medium which the track came from when appropriate,

(Classical) Request for Standardization of expanded TAGS
A month or two ago I sent an email to this list proposing to expand
the list of "standard" tags for Ogg Vorbis. No tag would be required,
but if you wanted to encode certain types of information about a file,
you could use a standard tag.
I went through the whole discussion, and revised my proposal in light
of all the comments from everyone. Here is the updated proposal.
