NIS failover
We just updated our configuratiosn to have multiple NIS servers, when we initiated a test of client failover, we were disapointed. It seemed that the only way to get a filaover was to /etc/init.d/ypbind restart. It behaves as indicated in http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=5084845 using ypbind-1.17.2-13 on Centos 4.5 / Linux xxxxxxxxxxxx 2.6.9-55.0.12.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri Nov

Using custom QEMU binaries with libvirt
...eating a softlink to /usr/bin/kvm-spice to the custom binary and leaving <emulator> as default... At the end of http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/openstack/dev/40033 I found something about AppArmor, and enabling bios.bin reading somewhere, but I got a little confused here. The most disapointing thing here, is that using qemu 1.7 I could use my custom build, but apparently something changed with 2.0 (or with libvirt integration). Any ideas? Thanks!

Questions about version 1.1.1 from an intensive end-user
Hi, I 'm happy when I see that version 1.1.1 has been released, but disapointed too by the fact that the setup has not been updated onto the link HYPERLINK "http://www.vorbis.com/download_win_1.0.1.psp"http://www.vorbis.com/down load_win_1.0.1.psp, which can only allow to download version 1.0.1. Could you tell me where I can find the complete list of fixes / improvement of the

There might be useful information in there (might have to increase "log level" in smb.conf, it can go up to 10 but that will generate a *lot* of data). If you still...

Are you experienced in SAS and R as well? Which of these would you recommend?
Hello! Disapointed about SPSS I have to choose another statistic program. And altough I sympathise with the idea of a non-commercial software-project like R and I like the spirit of the R community (and of course I am not keen on paying 150$ to SAS for a one-year students license), I will probably buy SAS, because people I will work with use SAS and I want a close cooperation with them. Besides I

Manual creation of machine trust and comments on Samba books
I just receive a copy of the official samba 3 howto, to be honest i'm rather disapoint with the content and layout. Well with free online version, i can't complaint, but with 'paid' version maybe i can complain to the author :-). Most of the contents are still the old documentation with few 'little' updation for samba3. Imo, its better if it can be rewrite from scratch

Samba 4
Hello, this is the first time I write to the samba list and I hope my question is not off topic. I want to set up a samba server to replace an Active Directory for my Windows workstations. So far, I have a LINUX network that works perfectly, all my users are stored in a LDAP server and their authentication is done against a MIT Kerberos server. Hence all users have a valid kerberos ticket

disappointed with group
Hi all, must say I have found the help in this group very disapointing. Have mail numerous times for help with some (in hindsight) simple problems. yet no one (ok 1 person) has attempted to aid me. If this group was ONLY filled with novices and users I could accept this but I have seen members of the development team , and others who have insight into the workin...

Icecast 2: planned stuff.
Hi there. I had a look at how icecast 2 works after having been pleased by how icecast 1 worked. I succesfully made it work on a debian woody (for those interested at how i did it http://melmoth.dyndns.org/stream/ It's in french yet). I was however disapointed a bit by not finding the admin console I used to find in icecast 1. So, several questions: is this admin console planned to be

Specific DllOverrides won't work...
Hi all, I recently succeed using on of my apps under Wine. But with the config, I meet a problem : I can't have both IE and my app workig, due to the use of native comctl32.dll and commctrl.dll. I wanted to specify this only for my app, as others won't work if I set it as global DllOverride. So here is what I did : [DllOverrides] ...snip "comctl32" =

VisualDSP++ with enabled BFIN_ASM
Hi I'm trying to integrate your speex codec on our custom Blackfin board and without uCLinux. I am using ADI-supplied VisualDSP++ IDE and corresponding toolchain. My question is: Is there anybody who ported speex with enabled BFIN_ASM to VisualDSP++ ? Best Regards, Stefan Voss -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
