Misunderstanding samba [homes]

the name of the xp boxes is borg, dir
the users working there are gusi, brigitte
gusi have a passwd (on the xp box), Linux account and samba-passwd - all
the same, thats OK (samba's working fine)
brigitte has no password on her machine dir, but there exists a
UNIX-account direktion and samba-account too - =with= a password.
Brigitte gets the share 'direktion' without a password as homes-share -
that's what I intended to do, but should not happen.
Can samba read my mind?
Ha anybody an idea how this is working?

Problems with Com1
Hi There,
i?m trying to controll PTZ-Cams trough Suse Linux 9.3.
i have 2 Cams - a Sony D31 and a Canon VC-C1.
So both where shipped with controlsoftware (Windows). The Software from
Sony had no problem - i can control all i want .. Zoom Pan Tilt .. etc.
Next i tried to connect the Canon Cam .. and after starting the
software, it return a "Error initalizing COM1"

Installation Package "gregmisc" nicht möglich?!?
...ch mit der neuen Version 2.0.0 (rw2000.exe) nicht hinbekommen, gleiche Fehlermeldung. Kann mir irgendjemand helfen?
Mir würde auch eine ältere Version von R genügen (mit den Packages foreign, x-table und gregmisc). Falls jemand einen Link auf eine ältere funktionsfähige Version hat oder die Dateien direkt per Mail schicken könnte wäre ich dankbar.

Hallo Liste,
hat sich schon mal jemand mit 2 Faktor Auth f?r dovecot besch?ftigt? Es
geht dabei nicht nur um die Absicherung einer Weboberfl?che sondern
direkt die Absicherung der Standard pop/imap Verbindungen des Clients.
Wir machen das auth bisher ?ber MySQL.? Rein technisch w?rde das gehen,
da man die Password-Query beliebig anpassen und auch mit allow_nets
arbeiten kann. Es w?re eher die Herausforderung f?r den Client den 2.
Faktor zu erf?llen und...

Shouldn't the effect of a high complexity increase the sound quality?

Corrupt files after Samba-upgrade
HI,
I have just upgraded my Samba-servers to 2.0.5a. After this upgrade several
users have problems with corrupted files, the files are Word- and
Excel-files. Others experiencing this? I am running on HP-UX 10.2.
