Menu - labels
Webgen uses file paths to generate multilevel menues, bread crumbs etc. And limits the character range in paths to a-zA-Z. As the directory names are used verbatim as menu labels this is fairly limitting for non-english pages. Is there a way to map directory names to configurable UTF8 strings for menu labels? oao

Update to Mounting Win 98 and 2k shares
Ok, typing: mount -t smbfs -o username=username, password=password //Share/File /mnt worked! It loaded the contents of the folder I wanted to acces into the mnt directory. This is goad, but I would like to store them all in one directory. I tired to do a ... /mnt/directoryname but it wouldn't work. Also, how do I set things up so that Linux will automatically load this share on startup

Problem with mkisofs (i guess :-))
Hello! I have a problem with a bootable cd that i'm trying to make .. The problem is that i don't know what all the mkisofs parameters do and because that weird things happen, if the filenames or directorynames contain spaces they do not open and if i'm in windows's safe mode it gives me an error message stating that the file or folder does not exist! Can anyone help with that? I'm a novice in making cd's with this tool and for the moment i find it difficult to use it but it does great thi...

symlink in -R src_dirlist and real dirs on target
...dest/src1/X11/X11/X11 (and so on) because the symlink to "." gets a copy of the contents of the directory src1/usr/bin/ I could do bind mounts for src1 and src2 but normaly I try to avoid bind mounts How do I mirror the contents of name name changing directories when I want to use fixed directorynames at destination. My symlink to dir approach was not successfull. Thanks lopiuh -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Preparing for sharing with ACLs
Greetings - I'm finalising the layout of our new mailstore ready for a trial service using Dovecot (switching from the UW IMAP server). This is using Maildir mailboxes, changing from our current mix of MBX and traditional Berkeley. One of the things we are often asked for is how someone can grant another access to their mailbox: eg, a Head of Department wants the Departmental

Beginner's Guide to Wine? (mac user)
I am absolutely new to wine, and as such, am fairly clueless as to how to maneuver wine in terminal--or even maneuver in terminal, at all. I am interested in learning. The funny thing is: all the threads in the "Absolute Beginners" section of the forum is generally pretty far beyond my comprehension. So, I'm wondering if someone could refer me to a introductory guide to using script

Two questions about menus
1) Feature request: the possibility to indicate a "short title" to appear in the menu when the title would be too long. 2) Consider this site: a.page misc/ sub.page Now I see in the menu: A Misc | Sub Is there any way to change "Misc" to an arbitrary string? I tried with misc: title: arbitrary with no luck. -- Andrea Censi "Life is

WG: FileListBox with VisualBasic 5.0 displays only files if direc toryname is shorter than 9 character
Hello, Sorry, there was an mistake in my previous mail. FileListBox with VisualBasic 5.0 (32Bit) and NT4.0SP3 displays only files if directoryname is shorter than 9 character. I am using Samba1.9.18.p3. The problem doesn't occur if the connected services is on an NT-Plattform. Does anybody know a solution to this problem. Or hasn?t anybody had this problem yet and am I just goofed ?

slow browsing problem
I was looking into what was causing the lag when I open my samba (3.0.27a) shares from windows (XP, SP2). I see a lot of consecutive directory opening. Process Monitor seems to suggests that windows is being stupid about alternate data streams: it tries to create directoryname:{4c8cc155-6c1e-11d1-8e41-00c04fb9386d}, fails, and tries another sixty-ish times before failing and doing the same with

filesystem screwed after aborted fsck.ext3
...n the morning, so he interrupted it again. --> and now comes the worst part. after mounting the fs again, *all* files and directories were GONE! and lost+found is now filled up with 1.5e6 files and directories. the top-level dirs of lost+found are all named after (inode?)numbers, then we have directorynames/filenames too. but a lot of the files seem to be double and appear in several directories again. our task now would be to sorten out the "important" stuff, rename, find out what filename "0edakka.da" used to be and so on. as you can see, this is really a vague explanation of th...

Light Libraries
Dear R-Help group: I have been tinkering with how I want my personal standard library functions to look like. They are not designed to be professional and heavyweight, but lightweight. There are probably dozens of little bugs, because I don't know or have not properly taken care of a variety of internal R code issues. still, I like how this ended up, and there is no learning curve, so I

access users homes share
hey list, we are currently migrating our users from novell to samba. now we have one problem: in novell we could give e.g. user1 access to users2 home share so he could modify, delete or add files on this share. in samba we defined a global homes share that is mapped on logon. so how can we give user1 the needed rights? here is the definition of the homes share in smb.conf: [homes]
