I've looked at the command 10-12 times and missed the omission of the space. I had been dinking around with it and inadvertently deleted the space. Added it and it's back to working. -- Bob Holtzman A fair fight is the result of poor planning.

DIB_DirectDraw_BltFast
Hi, There is this (freeware) game called Dink Smallwood, which I would like to play and it almost works but not quite: You walk around in this game in a view from above, but wine does not draw the floor tiles, which is quite annoying. So I printed out the debugging-manual and tried to figure out, what's going on. There are two function calls, which I believe to have identified as the

Another Shot At It
After receiving no response to yesterday's message, I tried some more web scouring and more tinkering and dinking around with Samba...and I discovered what may be a major key to my problem... I have 3 PC's...2 are Windoze and 1 is Linux. Windoze machines are likely to understand how to share files across subnets using the same workgroup name...but is Samba as adept? I have a feeling that is at the he...

about leaving zpools exported for future use
...ome time ago but lost track of the subject line and answers. My zfs machine has croaked to the point that it just quits after some 10 15 minutes of uptime. No interesting logs or messages what so ever. At least not that I''ve found. It just quietly quits. I''m not interested in dinking around with this setup... its well ready for upgrade. What I''d like to do is during one or two of those 15 minutes of uptime, set things up so that when I do get the replace setup, I can just attache those disks and import the pools. It may be complicated by rpool which also has some ke...

xmms plugin
Anyone else hacked together an xmms plugin for Vorbis? I took my best shot at it based on the source and some of the info I've picked up off this list... I haven't really tested it yet, but I think with a little bit more hacking it might actually work. I can put the source up if anyone wants to dink around with it, but I'd rather just clean it up a little then perhaps ask xmms if

Execution from ip-up.local
Hi, I'm using Firestarter as my firewall. If I restart the network or my DSL line goes down, I have to manually restart Firestarter. I have sh /etc/firestarter/firestarter.sh stop and then sh /etc/firestarter/firestarter.sh start in my ip-up.local file. I confirmed ip-up.local us being executed by placing an entry in the logs, but it appears firestarter is not or at least not correctly.

How painful is the 1.0 -> 1.1 upgrade going to be?
Does anyone have a sense for how painful the 1.0 -> 1.1 upgrade is going to be for existing apps? I''m finishing up my first real RoR application with Rails 1.0. I can live with it staying at that level, but I really want to use the has_many :through attribute to clean up some of my code. I''m not particularly interested in edge Rails, mainly because the documentation for

[Bug 65] TCP Wrappers support does not log successful connections
...urce handy] terminates sshd after calling syslog. There doesn't appear to be a corresponding accept() function. However, the fact that we have to call syslog ourselves is mitigated by the fact that there is a function available to crack the request structure, so we don't really have to go dinking with the tcp wrapper internals. It's the %s being sent into the syslog. Although it's not mentioned on the manpage, it's in the header we include. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

OT: General Help in chroot build environment
I am trying to compile a module for a Realtek 8168 for thinstation. I have pulled the developer tarball and executed the script to enter its build environment. I also have the source for the module I want to compile, but when I execute #make clean modules it errors out. Reading the errors, I can see it tried to look for the kernel source of the systems actual running kernel. From within the chroot

CentOS 6.0 i386 DVD
Anybody have tricks to write the i386 ISO image to DVD? I've tried DVD+-RW, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD-R in both Windows 7 (two different writers) and rebooted into CentOS 6 (x86_64) and tried cdrecord (now called wodim). On wodim I've tried overburn, reducing speeds, etc. All give the same results: the same number of bytes are written - indicating the disc is full (according to my calculations)

Rsync memory usage seems a lot higher than 100bytes/file
All, I have read the lists, I have read the faq - yes, rsync uses a lot of memory. That said - I need to use rsync in an environment with a lot of files, and I need to use -H and --delete options. The faq says about 100 bytes per file - at the moment I am looking at 8700000 files, which should translate to about 800MB - but it does not. In fact, running rsync not only consumes all of the ram,

Logging Detail
Hi all, I am using Samba 2.2.7-security-rollup-fix on a few RH7.3 systems. I need to configure the logging to show what user/pc is accessing what file. I've been through the How-Tos at Samba.org and read the section on configuring logging detail but either I'm too tired or too stupid (both viable options ;-) ) to figure out which level I need to get this information. Can anyone tell

I tried the mangling maps option in smb.conf. However, I'm not getting anywhere and I am stumped. Does anyone have some suggestions on restoring the old behaviour in either smbfs or cifs, or some workaround? Thanks, Mich...

Rails on Tomcat or JBoss?
Hi all, The Rails book talks about running Rails under Apache, but is there a (relatively) easy way to deploy it to either Tomcat or JBoss? Is the CGI servlet the only option?
