Cisco 7905G vs ATA186
Hi All,
I'm looking at getting some Cisco VoIP hardware to play with in
combination with a Asterisk server.
I've heard that there is beta software available to do SIP on the 7905G.
So, I'm thinking of either getting a 7905G or a ATA186.
My dillema is, which one to buy?
I can get both for about the same price, has anyone had any experience
with using a 7905G with Asterisk?
On one hand it would be useful to have a ATA186 for its two ports, might
be useful for testing stuff (Can you call between the two ports on a
ATA186 ok?).
But on the...

Help on creating custom financial time series graphs
...l time series. The code was
developed on the Win2K and so makes many now level function calls to the GDI
etc, and is very tightly wedded to the Win2k windowing system. I notice
however, that most of the graphing functionality in R (at least on the
Windows OS) is handled by GraphApp
This is the dillema I face:
Do I scrap the existing code and start from "afresh" (Please don't say yes
to this ! ;0)
How Can I "merge" my code into R with the minimum of fuss ?
If I have to start from afresh, I would like to know how easy it is to
draw/create graphs in R.
Many thanks in...

Event Overload
...uses
Ajax.Request objects to send requests, it has two methods per request,
one which receives a DTO(data transfer object(hash)) and the other
which receives the request, upon receiving the request it dispatches a
custom event and all the listeners of that service receive the XHR,
works great.
My dillema is the idea of having the components which need to invoke
the service to request fresh data. Do I..
A) Have a reference of the service in the component class and
reference that method directly
B) Have the service watch for an event of the component.
As of now I''ve begun to implement opt...

migrating windows applications by packing wine+app in a deb?
Hello,
I recently posted my experimental thoughts in the playonlinux forums, but I really want to open all possible channels to get feedback for the idea to deliver a complete (for the certain windows-app optimized) wine-structure, windows app and all nessassary wrapper scripts for processing the app in a deb.
This would mean that every single application(-group) brings its own fitting

The future of Compiz
Where are we going?
It's time to start thinking ahead and really figure out how to make Compiz
survive, specially in lieu of Dennis' suggestion.
The reality is that there has been the equivalent of no progress since the
merge. We've basically only been in maintenance mode. The reason for this,
from my point of view, is a complete lack of direction and leadership.
We've

Hi Michael,
a while back I had exactly the same dillemas, the only difference was I was
using Windows NT workstations.
If you image the machines after they have joined the domain and maintain the
password for their machine account on the PDC that should work (I tried it
on one machine and worked) what you have to keep in mind though is that this
