Emerging dilema? DID forwarding meets SMS
We have a number of DID's that do the standard VoIP tricks: ringing
multiple locations, findme-followme etc. What is happening more and
more is that customers call those DID numbers, and draw the reasonable
conclusion that they are calling mobile numbers because they literally
can HEAR that the called party is on a mobile. Consequently many of
those customers draw the conclusion that they

Returning vector of values shared across 3 vectors?
...vector that looked like this:
4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,52
For some reason I initially thought that a cbind and a unique() would handle it, but then common sense sunk in. I think the sleep deprivation is starting to take it's toll. I've got to believe that there is a simple solution to this dilema.
Thanks in adance for any help!

icecast2 transcode?
I've got a dilema. For months, I've been planning and implementing
a large project involving vorbis, ices2, icecast2 and wifi networking.
The plan is to stream live audio from 10 Austin nightclubs during
the SXSW music festival this March.
Well yesterday, it was made plain to me that I must also provide mp3...

SwitchTower and multiple database.yml files - how do you deal with them?
Hi everyone,
What are other people doing with regards to database.yml being in
version control? My dilema:
I set up my rails app in svn using these instructions:
http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/HowtoUseRailsWithSubversion
The part to note is where I ignore database.yml, allowing different
developers to keep their own database.yml without clobbering other
developers'' files. Sounds g...

Ogg response headers
...s for to signify what type(ogg or mp3) of stream the client is requesting?
example
(for shoutcast winamp sends icy-metadata:1)
shoutcast server then recognizes its a player capable of streaming media so it sends the icy-metaint:8192 to winamp, along with a slew of other icy headers.
o here is my dilema
example php code
fwrite($sp,"GET /my_mp3 HTTP/1.0\nUser-Agent:Secret stuff alpha\nicy-metadata:1\n\n");//works with winamp when requested via php script
but
fwrite($sp,"GET /example.ogg HTTP/1.0\nUser-Agent:Secret stuff alpha\n\n"); //will not work in winamp when requested via...

Which is more robust/bug-free? Rails 1.0 or 1.1-RC1?
I know that Rails 1.1-RC1 has many new features but it also seems to fix
numerous bugs found in Rails 1.1.
So for new projects--say a small (<=10 product) ecommerce website set to
launch "any day now", should we use Rails 1.0 or 1.1-RC1?
Which is more bug-free? I heard 1.1-RC1 gets rid of the ''white screen
of death'' but I''m wondering if any new bugs

Help with failing Nut slave/client connection
Tough to get a spoofed IP to actually route back to it's host though, so
other than those unfortunate to be on a flat network, still not too much
of an issue . . .

asterisk not sending ACK after reinvite
Hi,
I am faced with this dilema of asterisk not sending an ACK after it receives
200 OK from OpenSER (which is a response to a reinvite request sent by
asterisk. Here is my setup
Carrier<->OpenSER<->Asterisk1<->Asterisk2
A user is connected with Asterisk1 (through the carrier and OpenSER). On

Managing dynamic instances with puppet
...the time)
- I also have several unmanaged resources (like other nagios checks that I''m
not managing through puppet currently). Will performing a purge on nagios
resources will cause ALL existing checks that are not managed by puppet to
disappear?
Has anyone ever dealt with this kind of dilema? Are there are any other best
practices to perform this?
I''d really appreciate the help!
Thanks,
Galed.

To use asterisk or proprietary hardware, that is the question
Hi there,
Here is my dilema. I have a new small business customer that wants me to
put in a VoIP phone system for them. Based on their requirements, I have
determined that it needs to be a "set it and forget it" type of thing like a
lot of small business proprietary systems.
At the same time they would like to...

Help with failing Nut slave/client connection
HI again, Sorry I didn't mean to cause a security debate.
I'd like things to be secure of course, but I've got a dilema that I don't
use DHCP and instead have a block of static IPs from my ISP.
So my nut server has 68.68.452.02 for example
and my two slave clients have 68.68.452.03 and .04
ideally I'd like to allow access for the whole static IP block to access
the nut server machine.
I've tried all...

Winamp sends that to mean "I want mp3 inline metadata if you support it", but
this does not imply anything about the requested stream format.

Networking
...>4GB
- format hard disk, with specific cluster sizes
- perhaps load a network stack
I'm trying to automate system builds, but DOS based disks have the
limitation of not being able to do many types of file systems, if you
convert later you are stuck with small cluster sizes.
See my dilema?
Thanks for any insight,

rsync-ssh problem
...used the command:
$cat ~/.ssh/id_dsa.pub | ssh paul@slug ?cat- >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys?
Now, interestingly, I did this in reverse as well. i.e. I opened a
session on slug with Putty and generated the keys and sent them to my
home on greywolf. I mention this because here is my problem and dilema?!
If I start on slug (in a Putty ssh session) I can type $ssh
paul@greywolf and it works just fine, no passwords, just a command
prompt on greywolf. Just what I expect.
However, it does not work the other way, which is what I want for the
backups to be automated. If I type ssh paul@slug from comm...

How to have multiple independently working controlllers for one view
.... There is a rough picture of my problem at thios
address : http://offtype.net/image_965035194627.gif.html . The blue
areas are those who work independently form one another but at certain
actions they submit the other area. And there will be, also a scroll
for both of the blue parts.
So, my dilema is how to approach this situation? I think the two
blue areas will have their own controllers, so how i should handle
more than one controller on one view ?
I can do it entirely with ajax, but there are more complex object
which i have to validate, so i think they''d better be some kind...

Group=????
Good Day list,
I have worn out my google toolbar today looking for a way to
determine which group an incoming call belong to, but have not been very
fruitfull in my endeavors.
I am trying to figure a way to determine which group the
incoming call that I just answered is part of so I can do some
branchinbg scripts in my dialplan. I know I can control my dialplan
logic by creating separate
