Using locator() to digitise
...nts of the graphic would in fact be clicking on the R plot and, via locator(), generate the R-plot coordinates of the mouse clicks which would correspond to the selected points on the graphic. Provided the coordinate system of the R plot were properly related to the graphic, the results would be a digitisation of the selected points on the graphic. What seems to be needed for this idea to work is that the R-plot should be displayed in an X11() device whose background was completely transparent, so that when moved over the (independently generated) display of the graphic the latter would be visible (but...

FXS with v.90 modem support?
I have a couple of devices that need an analog modem to communicate outside of our Asterisk system. Most FXS gateways don't seem to support this... I have a stack of Sipura 2002's that are, AFAIK, worthless for this purpose. I've heard that Digium's IAXy FXS will work with modems, but I can't find any reference to that in their documentation. There is also the

three related time series with different resolutions
I have three time series, x, y, and z, and I want to analyse the relations between them. However, they have vastly different resolutions. I am writing to ask for advice on how to handle this situation in R. x is a stimulus, and y and z are responses. x is a rectangular pulse 4 sec long. Its onset and offset are known with sub-millisecond precision. The onset varies irregularly -- it doesn't

gplot heatmap
Hi, I am drawing a heat map using gplots of R package. The file (new4) is having values 0 and 1 only. library(gplots) library(marray) x=read.table("new4", header=TRUE) mat=data.matrix(x) heatmap.2(mat, col=colorRampPalette(c("black","red"))(256), #col=greenred(75), Rowv=TRUE, Colv=TRUE, distfun = dist, hclustfun = hclust, dendrogram = c("row"), scale =

Quicktime components and FLAC
Hi all, OK, so I just bought myself a nice shiny new powerbook. Nice machine. Very nice machine :-) But, iTunes does not understand FLAC. My Digitised music collection (entirely my own, ripped from my cd's, blah, blah, blah) is now mostly in FLAC (as I slowly go through and convert it will all be in FLAC :-) So, I have a problem. Or, if you want to look at it another way, I have an itch. An

RE: Hlp in finding a native Ogg trim, fade & nomalise tool
Hi John A trimer/vcut type application is possible but unfortunately not a fade/normaliser. Not without decoding/encoding. I asked about this a couple of years ago. Unlike MP3, the Ogg Vorbis format doesn't store a global gain setting per frame. I have often downloaded MP3 files from mp3.com and other sources for broadcasting, and with the type of music I need, it is often not normalised
