Asynchronous IO
...S drives. The application which does the asynchronous direct io on SAS drive is running on Domain 0. Actually the IOPs what i get for a 512Bytes IO size is 67, but if i do the same operation on Linux 2.6.11.10 <http://2.6.11.10> native kernel, i get 267 IOPs.Cananyone tell me why this huge differnece? Am i missing something? In the current setup on Xen, if i do Synchronous IO, then i am getting 265 IOPs which is expected. So i am wondering why Asynchronous IO should behave this way? Is there any reason?? Thanks, Priya _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list X...

differnce between lme and proc mixed
Hey, I was using lme and proc mixed in SAS to run a empirical bayesian model. I used the same method for both lme and proc mixed (the default REML). I got very similar, but not identical results. I am just wondering if anyone knows what the differneces may be between proc mixed and lme. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks, Liz --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Supplied buffer too small in API command
I've searched around throught the documentation, but I can't find anything relating to the error message "Supplied buffer too small in API command". I have SAMBA installed on seven HP 9000 boxes running HP_UX 10.20, and they are working fine. I installed SAMBA on another box yesterday using a cloned smb.conf file, and now I can't connect from Windows 95 to the new box.

"hiding" and "vetoing" files (for Samba 2.2.2 & Windows Explorer)
We're running Samba 2.2.2 on an RS/6000 (AIX 4.3.3) using Windows 95 clients. We've tried the "hide files" and "veto files" option in smb.conf, but when the shares are mapped, we can still see the contents in Windows Explorer. We used the wildcard for all the contents of the shares (ex. hide files = /*.*/). The Samba manual only makes reference to Windows 98, so

a R question
Dear Sir, I have been working with R for some time now and I am very happy with it, but I have found a problem that I could not resolve. Could you please give me some hint about how to transform POSIX time data in seconds to string format?. (eg. 995752800 -> year-month,day,hour,min, sec) I tryed with Sys.time(), strptime() and date() but without success. Thank you very much in advance

R-beta: S Compatibility (again)
While I think total compatibility is not possible or even very important I have become aware recently of some fairly low level incompatibilities that have rather serious consequences for interchange between systems. Some of these are possibly well known, but I put them on on record here just in case. (I do not expect any action on these, of course, but people may want to note them, and correct
