Samba4 smb.conf parse shares diffently depending on where a section is located.
I guess this works as intended but i wanted to put it here anyhow for future reference for others. If a share definition is located above [Global] it gets totally different attributes. We had enormous problems with rights on one share and no matter what we did to acl, xattr and Windows permissions it just would not work correctly. A couple of things added to a definition above [Global] is:

FLAC Test files
Hi all! I'm implementing FLAC playback in mC2 (a rewrite of musikCube) and need to test if everything is working. I was wondering if there are any FLAC test files to download? I'm looking for files with diffent kind of bits (8,16,24 etc) and examples of multichannel files. Best regards Daniel ?nnerby

a test suite for FLAC would be great, but where do I find it? (I'm sorry if this might be obvious to everyone else, but I can't seem to find anything) Brian Willoughby wrote: > Daniel, have you looked at the test suite for FLAC? Why SAM has totally diffent results in R2.1.1 and R2.4.0
Hi, I am using SAM (from siggenes_1.2.11 package) method to select genes from a microarray data set. After installing the latest R2.4.0 on my computer, to my surprise the results are totally different from that calculated using R2.1.1. Even the example code doesn't work the same way under these two versions of R. Does anybody know what is going on? Thanks for any suggestions.

FLAC Test files
When you download the full source for FLAC and read the instructions, you'll see that 'make test' will run the test suite. The instructions warn people that this can bring even a good machine to its knees, and it is not recommended for everyone to run it. I have run it because I have submitted an installer package for Mac OS X, and it seemed prudent to take the time to test

FLAC Test files
I thought the "test" part of the source was like a unit test for the whole FLAC package and not exactly what I was looking for. I'm more interrested in if diffent bit in flac files will still have the right amplitude when I play my files in my implementationn, and if I'm mapping multichannel files to the right speakers is done corrently in my implementation. But what

e1071 SVM: Cross-validation error confusion matrix
Hi, I ran two svm models in R e1071 package: the first without cross-validation and the second with 10-fold cross-validation. I used the following syntax: #Model 1: Without cross-validation: > svm.model <- svm(Response ~ ., data=data.df, type="C-classification", > kernel="linear", cost=1) > predict <- fitted(svm.model) > cm <- table(predict,

IPSec with 2.6.9 and Windows clients
Hi, is there a good howto for a Linux VPN-Gateway using racoon and IPSec provided with the actual kernel 2.6.9? Also one for how to set up a connection to the gateway using Windows XP and the client shipped with it? _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/listinfo/lartc HOWTO: http://lartc.org/

silent data corruption with rsync
Hi everbody! I'm currently working in a project which has to copy huge amounts of data from one storage to another. For a reason I cannot validate any longer, there is a roumor that "rsync may silently corrupt data". Personally, I don't believe that. "They" explain it this way: "rsync does an in-stream data deduplication. It creates a checksum for each data block

Sum up the values of a function
Dear R-Users, I have to do a maximum-likelihood estimation and have now a problem concerning how to sum up my function values in a smart way. I don't know how to explain it easyly, so I give you the code and show you where my problem is. I have shorten the code a little bit, so that you only get the necessary facts: ws12 <- function (z, i) (1/(1+exp(z[1]*(z[3]-x1[i]-

re-ordering a vector by name
Dear R-help, Let's say `x1' and `x2' are very long vectors (length=5e5, say) with same set of names but in different order. If I want to sort `x2' in the order of `x1', I would do x2[names(x1)] but the amount of time that takes is quite prohibitive! Does anyone have any suggestion on a more efficient way to do this? If the two vectors are exactly the same length (as I
