Samba4 smb.conf parse shares diffently depending on where a section is located.
I guess this works as intended but i wanted to put it here anyhow for
future reference for others.
If a share definition is located above [Global] it gets totally different
attributes. We had enormous problems with rights on one share and no matter
what we did to acl, xattr and Windows permissions it just would not work
correctly. A couple of things added to a definition above [Global] is:

FLAC Test files
Hi all!
I'm implementing FLAC playback in mC2 (a rewrite of musikCube) and need
to test if everything is working.
I was wondering if there are any FLAC test files to download?
I'm looking for files with diffent kind of bits (8,16,24 etc) and
examples of multichannel files.
Best regards

Why SAM has totally diffent results in R2.1.1 and R2.4.0
Hi,
I am using SAM (from siggenes_1.2.11 package) method to select genes from
a microarray data set. After installing the latest R2.4.0 on my computer, to
my surprise the results are totally different from that calculated using
R2.1.1. Even the example code doesn't work the same way under these two
versions of R. Does anybody know what is going on? Thanks for any
suggestions.

overriding rest show route but not delete
hi, lets say routes.rb has

map.foo ''/bar/:id'', :controller => ''foo'', :action => ''show''
this works fine, including foo_path( :id => "1") => /bar/1

FLAC Test files
I thought the "test" part of the source was like a unit test for the
whole FLAC package and not exactly what I was looking for. I'm more
interrested in if diffent bit in flac files will still have the right
amplitude when I play my files in my implementationn, and if I'm mapping
multichannel files to the right speakers is done corrently in my
implementation.
But what you're saying is that the test suite will generate such files

ssh-keygen problem with openssh-4* and openssl-0.9.7g on AIX
...ssl-0.9.7g on Linux)
i found the following problem:
ssh-keygen creates a corrupt public key for rsa1
("keygen -t rsa1" and "keygen -yf testkey")
the public key starts with a sequence of 0 and
has only a few digits at the end
keygen -l returns key lengths between 80 and 128
for diffent keygen runs
the corrupt key isn't accepted in authorized_keys
(while the correct pub key from another system is)
rsa and dsa have no problems

[ win32utils-Bugs-5287 ] v 0.4.1 - Clipboard.set_data causes Segmentation fault
...gned to: Nobody (None)
Summary: v 0.4.1 - Clipboard.set_data causes Segmentation fault
Initial Comment:
Whenever Clipboard.set_data is called a Segmentation fault occurs and ruby reports abnormal program shutdown.
You can discover this simply by running the test case.
I have observed this on two diffent systems.
Version 0.4.0 still works fine.

However, when I compare cm and cm2, I notice that the confusion matrices are
identical although the accuracy of each model is diffent. What am I doing
wrong?
Thanks for you help,

IPSec with 2.6.9 and Windows clients
Hi,
is there a good howto for a Linux VPN-Gateway using racoon and IPSec
provided with the actual kernel 2.6.9? Also one for how to set up a
connection to the gateway using Windows XP and the client shipped with it?

silent data corruption with rsync
...that.
"They" explain it this way: "rsync does an in-stream data deduplication. It creates a checksum for each data block to transfer, and if a block with the same checksum has already been transferred sooner, this old block will be re-used to save bandwidth. But, for any reason, two diffent blocks can produce the same checksum even if the source data is not the same, effectively corrupting the data stream".
Did you ever hear something like this? Has this been a bug in any early version of rsync? If so, when was it fixed?
Thank you,
?? sig

point to point T hookup?
...the voiceT at each location to maximize savings on
interoffice calls.
An alternative is to put a router and switch at each end and extend a data
network to the other site for SIP traffic. Would that result in better
quality calls?
What configuration areas are there to be set and how are they diffent than
just a standard PRI, which I have working now?

You are missing the fact that you shouldn't mix using Unix permissions
and ACLs, it will not work. Use one or the other, preferably the
later, in fact if you use the DC as a fileserver, you MUST use the
later.

Access denied to change share security staff
Hello all;
I have problem with shares in a domain member used as file server (I want to use it like that)
I check from samba wiki some test that you suggest and all have been pass well. I try to make a new share using POSIX ACL and still not access.
To make the share and apply the permissions and owners:

re-ordering a vector by name
Dear R-help,
Let's say `x1' and `x2' are very long vectors (length=5e5, say) with same
set of names but in different order. If I want to sort `x2' in the order of
`x1', I would do
x2[names(x1)]
but the amount of time that takes is quite prohibitive! Does anyone have
any suggestion on a more efficient way to do this?
If the two vectors are exactly the same length (as I
