Conversion error Illegal multibyte sequence in smbstatus
...P850
unix charset = UTF-8
display charset = LOCALE
Do you know how to fix the display of smbstatus ? I don't know what
else to check, I have another server with the exact same parameters I
just gave and it displays smbstatus correctly.
Thanks for your help.

Include directory in smb.conf
...e,
I'm wondering if there any patch or recent developement that would allow to
include a directory rather than a file in smb.conf
Something like
includedir = /etc/samba/shares.d/
instead of
include = /etc/samba/shares.conf
Thanks for your help

Saludos !!

Conversion error Illegal multibyte sequence in smbstatus
Because of Plain text mode, my output example is split across several
lines and hence is totally meaningless.
If you want to see the example, follow this link :

I marked in red the places where the bug appears.

Progress indication refreshes too often with --info=progress2
...711, to-chk=7/537759)
?5.53G? 95%??? 8.50MB/s??? 0:10:20 (xfr#478712, to-chk=6/537759)
That's one refresh per file! I believe the user console's speed may limit rsync's performance in such scenarios.
I think the progress messages should refresh once every 500 ms at most.
Thanks,

Re: Running all my virtual machines with a low priority
...n with Ubuntu 18.04. And changing XML on all guest VMs is extra work.
Is there no other way? For example, are all such virtual machines not some daemon or systemd unit or set of units? Would it be feasible to lower the
priority on all of those? Or is that not easy to do either?
Thanks again,

contra el promedio de la segunda columna. La segunda columna tiene el mismo
valor para las 10.000 filas en cada archivo asi es que sabemos el promedio
de antemano, pero quiero incluirlo en el calculo de todos modos. Para

Shared directory contained within another shared directory

I have Samba server running version 3.0.33-3.29.el5_5.1. The Samba

authentication.
We have a physical directory named hr that is shared as "hr" and is
accessible to the HR department. A subdirectory of the hr directory
named hrshared is shared as "hrshared" and should be accessible to
specific users
