Story Runner, autoincrementing
I''ve written a story and I run into a snag. I''ve written the create_forum method and told it to set the id to 1 but when it creates the forum the id is autoincremented. My forums table is empty but the id keeps incrementing the newest record on creation. When I run the story it comes out as something like 59 which fails my story because I''m asking it to look at /forums/1

[fdo] Request to host project "OpenSync" a synchronization framework
Hi i am Armin Bauer, one of the developers of Multisync, an application to sync various pdas, cellulars and other programs (see www.multisync.org for further information) We recently ran into design limitations with our current version, which was where we decided to develop a new major version of Multisync. I started working on the new design but quickly noticed to there are a lot of other

PSDRV_FindPrinterInfo Error, trying to use kprinter
I am running wine 20050725 under KDE/Debain/testing with binaries from deb http://wine.sourceforge.net/apt/ binary/ on the client in question. I am trying to print from QuickBooks 6 to a printer server (Brother HL1240) running cups 1.1.18. The client is accessing the printer from kprinter and printing from the native Linux applications with no problem. When I try to print from QuickBooks I

Unknown number CID on SIP phone
Hello, I'm a new Asterisk user and I hope I haven't missed something, but I can't seem to find an answer to this issue. I have a Cisco SIP gateway terminating calls into a 7960 phone. The issue I would like to fix is if I have an incoming call without an ANI, such as directly from my TDM phone switch, Asterisk says the call is coming from the IP address of the Cisco gateway,

autoscaling plot font size in Sweave output possible?
Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to have fonts in plots to be autoscaled to the same font size used by LaTeX in a surrounding Sweave document. Here's a short example in which the fonts of the first plot are barely readable: --8<------------------------schnipp------------------------->8--- \documentclass{article} \usepackage{graphicx} \newcommand{\mytext}{Some normal sized

Hacked or not appendice
Hi all again, I must add, there are no log entries after June 9, 2004. "LKM" message first apeared June 8, 2004, after this day, there is nothing in /var/messages, /var/security ..... How could I look for suspicious LKM module ? How could I find it, if the machine is hacked and I can not believe "ls", "find" etc. commands ? Peter Rosa

some question regarding random forest
Hi, I had two questions regarding random forests for regression. 1) I have read the original paper by Breiman as well as a paper dicussing an application of random forests and it appears that the one of the nice features of this technique is good predictive ability. However I have some data with which I have generated a linear model using lm(). I can get an RMS error of 0.43 and an R^2 of 0.62. However when I make a plot of predicte...

Bug when using /dev/cciss/c0d2 as mdt/ost
I am trying to build lustre-1.6.6 against the pre-patched kernel downloaded from SUN. But as written in Operations manual, it creates rpms for 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5_lustrecustom. Is there a way to ask it not to append custom as extraversion. Running kernel is 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5_lustre.1.6.6smp. -- Regards-- Rishi Pathak National PARAM Supercomputing Facility Center for Development of Advanced

<copied from opensolaris-dicuss as this probably belongs here.> I kept on trying to migrate my pool with children (see previous threads) and had the (bad) idea to try the -d option on the receive part. The system reboots immediately. Here is the log in /var/adm/messages Feb 8 16:07:09 amber unix: [ID 836849 kern.notice] Feb 8 16:07:09 amber ^Mpanic[cpu1]/thread=ffffff014ba86e40: Feb 8

match function causing bad performance when using table function on factors with multibyte characters on Windows
[I originally posted this on the R-help mailing list, and it was suggested that R-devel would be a better place to dicuss it.] Running ?table? on a factor with levels containing non-ASCII characters seems to result in extremely bad performance on Windows. Here?s a simple example with benchmark results (I?ve reduced the number of replications to make the function finish within reasonable time):

Eager loading not working well for me
Man my app is causing me so much grief lately. Okay let''s say I have: class Discussion has_many :posts end class Post belongs_to :discussion acts_as_tree end Then let''s say I grab a discussion object and try to eager load all of its posts: discussion = Discussion.find(:first, :include => [:posts]) Seems simple enough and it grabs an entire tree of posts. However:

Does Berkeley DB and Rails seem like a good match?
I''ve been reading up on Berkeley DB and I''ve been refelcting on the Rails philosophy and it just seemed to me like the two should go together hand in glove. Rails seeks to abstract the programer from squirrely database coding which is great. My only problem is that you''re still left with a large component, namely the databsase server (MySQL, PostgreSQL..etc) which

Installing gregmisc under windows 2000
If I'm not mistaken, "bundle" is really only useful as a concept for distribution and installation. You distribute and install a bundle, but load the individual packages when you want to use them. Once you install the bundle, you won't see the name of the bundle in the list of installed packages, but you see the constituent packages, and those are what you load when you want to

Managesieve daemon
Hello, some time ago there was dicussion on the list about development of a managesieve daemon to allow users to manage their own scripts. After putting the pieces togheter and having sieve working in the lda with Dovecot I solved the management issue by using Horde's Ingo + FTP to manage scripts for virtual users. This is quite ugly (technically speaking) but works and it is integrated with

log information .d..t... etc
Hi there all, I sincerely hope I'm posting this message in the correct space? I'm fairly new to rsync (And Linux for that matter) BUT after exploring rsync quite exstensively I can't seem to find the information I'm looking for. In short I need to know what the logging displayed relates to? For example: 2009/08/02 11:38:58 [5596] .d..t...... music00/ 2009/08/02 11:39:01 [5595]

byte locking bug?
I'm having trouble with file locking in DOS over Samba. The trouble is Samba seems to be translating my lock request to a different range. Samba server is a linux box running 2.0.5a and clients are win95 or win98. The win32 call that I'm making to lock the file is called LockFile. We use this regularly, and lock a byte just before the 2GB range. We attempt to put a lock on the
