Hello there!
I hope there is someone out there who is using the DICOM package.

pb with 4D dicom data and oro.dicom
...o,
I have the following problem. After a PACS upgrade in our hospital, the dynamic 3D images acquired after contrast media injection with a 3T Philips MRI are all saved in a single 4D file instead of a series of 2D images containing multiple 3D images over time. I used to convert this series of 2D dicom images in the format nfti with oro.dicom. However, I am no longer able to make oro.dicom read my single 4D dataset whereas it is perfectly opened by imageJ.
Did you also face this problem? Do you know a way to solve it?
In the following link, I put an anonymized file containing the 4D dicom image...

dicom viewer for Centos 7 and pacs servers
Everyone,
Have any of you had any luck getting aeskulap to work with Centos7. We
have just migrated some desktops from Fedora 20 to Centos. but aeskulap
is not in the centos 7 repos.
aeskulap was a decent dicom viewer and was able to connect to our pacs
server. If there are other viewers that any of you have used I would be
interested in the dialog of what you have used and any difficulties
related to the installation process and use.
Thanks,

source vs destination in bytes

a) 20480 vs 34922496
b) 28672 vs 24576
c) 61718528 vs 61714432
d) 157790208 vs 157786112
each directory consists of subdirectories of medical images in dicom format.
Most interesting to me was case a) where the preimage was smaller than the
image!!!!
in fact, when i looked at the data in the directory a) in the destination,
they seemed to be consistent dicom files. ie they seem to open with dicom
file parsers. While the preimage directory in the case...

GE centricity viewer??
I picked up some data from the nearest hospital to take to the
specialist at the next one, with whom I had an appt.; it came on a CD,
which is marked "DICOM Volume with GE Centricity Viewer."
When I put the CD into a drive, Fedora 11 auto-mounts it, and
fails to find the autorun.exe, which is right there in plain sight. (F11
knows it exists, and asks whether to run it, and then fails. This is
currently normal for most M$-intended media.)

New package for medical image manipulation: tractor.base
Dear all,
The "tractor.base" package has recently been added to CRAN. This
package provides functions to read, write, visualise and manipulate
magnetic resonance images. The standard Analyze, NIfTI and DICOM file
formats are supported (read-only for DICOM), and all metadata is
stored with the image data internally. The code can be used to
visualise image slices or maximum intensity projections; and to apply
masking, thresholding or other arbitrary functions to the image data.
The package is written in...

subRaw?
..."e", but "bc" was not
replaced by "ef"? Do you know of any function to do this?
I ask, because I need it. I've written such a function, subRaw
for my own use. If I don't hear that another exists, I plan to add the
one I've written to the oro.dicom package.
Thanks,
Spencer

openl2tp.org compared to openvpn
Everyone,
I am needing to set up a secure channel with another office in order to
pass some dicom files back and forth. The remote office is microsoft
shop. I have initially looked at openvpn, but the microsoft shop has
requested that we use openl2tp in that they already have this running.
Since openl2tp is not part of the centos repositories, does anyone have
good or bad experiences with th...

dcemri: A package for medical image analysis
...CRAN
"dcemri" is (to the best of my knowledge) the first public-domain software
package for the quantitative analysis of dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI
(DCE-MRI) and diffusion-weighted MRI (DW-MRI or DWI). Data import and
export is availble for ANALYZE or NIfTI data formats (sorry, no DICOM).
Images are stored in neurological format regardless of the "handedness" of
the data; i.e., simple reflections are allowed via the q-form or s-form
codes in NIfTI.
Software development is currently under SourceForge via
