...directory in both directions for file transfer with no issues when the system is running maya.  Once I boot sylvia I have problems. A summary of the situation: 1) maya booted (smbd 3.6.25) A file added to the share from the other system appears in the shared directory with ownership as "dhdurgee/dhdurgee" and can be moved out of the shared directory elsewhere. A file added to the shared directory can be accessed via the share from the other system also appears with ownership as "dhdurgee/dhdurgee" and can be moved elsewhere out of the share. 2) sylvia booted (smbd 4.3.1...

I am taking the unusual measure of posting before anyone responds to my post as something occurred to me and the results of testing it yields useful information relevant to my problem. It finally occurred to me that the behavior I am seeing with sylvia, specifically the fact that a file added via the share from the other system gets ownership of "nobody/nogroup", that perhaps 4.3.11

I have a network with two older systems protected by APC UPSs. Both systems run OS/2 and will continue to do so. Both systems have APC PowerChute Plus 4.2.3 installed and I can use that software to monitor and control both systems.
