How to disable dnsmasq from starting automatically with libvirtd
Hi. I have a machine with a local DHCP server and a couple of virtual networks and I've configured the server for each virtual interface, so that I would be able to install VMs on the corresponding subnets using PXE. The problem is that the two DHCP servers (my local server and dnsmasq) are conflicting with each other causing the boot process to either fails or takes ages untill a VM can

broken network-support for netBSD-domUs?
Hello. I recently tried installing NetBSD-5 on xen-4.0.1-rc5, which resulted in no network (xennet0 can''t get IPs per dhclient and has no connectivity if set by hand). Tried it with netBSD-5.1-RC3-1 i386 PAE & amd64, netBSD-5.0 and even 4, all with the same result. On a older xen version (3.3.1) networking works fine, so I assume it''s a xen bug, and not a netBSD-kernel

Xen and DHCP problem
Hey folks! I want to add a CentOS 5.2 domU to an existing server (Fedora 8) which was setup by another company. The Dom0 does not provide any other services but a BIND-DHCP-server (they deleted dnsmasq and installed bind). Don''t ask my why they did that. My new DomU is connected to eth0, which is a bridge. BIND also listens on eth0 to serve other machines. I start the install of centos

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
Hi, kickstarting fails due to problems with host resolution, even though the network seems to be properly configured through DHCP. eno1 and eno2 are both attached to the network, but only eno1 gets an IP via DHCP. Still `curl` cannot resolve the mirror host and the kickstart host during dracut-initqueue: rdsosreport.txt ------------------------------------------------ [...] [ 14.780428]

SNV85 DomU DHCPDISCOVER at SNV85 Dom0 & F8 Dom0
I have the box dual booting SNV85 Dom0 and F8 Dom0. Both Dom0s utilize same ethernet interface for connection to ADSL Modem acting as DHCP Bridge (ZyXEL P660RT2). Both Dom0s obtain IP adress from ISP at boot up with no problems. 1. When i install SNV85 DomU at F8 Dom0 ( vif=['' '']) with DHCP option it gets IP adress from ISP in 1-2 min 2. When i virt-install SNV85 DomU at

CentOS 4.6 - dhcp issue
Hi - On my CentOS 4 cobbler server i am having some odd dhcp issues. There is only 1 dhcp server on the network and the cobbler box manages the dhcp. When i kick off the PXE install during the PXE phase things seem OK then when anaconda tried to get an IP sometimes things work out fine and other times it sits waiting for hostname/domainname. From the logs you can see that the mac requesting

PXE problem after CentOS reboot
Dear folks, We are installing a large diskless cluster using CentOS 5.1. The hardware is pretty new - Supermicro X7DWT boards with Harpertown CPUs. Unfortunately we have some PXE-related problems described by the following scenario: 1) Set up DHCP, TFTP and NFS on a server, prepare PXE kernel and initrd - fine. 2) Start up the node using PXE for the first time - fine. 3) Reboot the node - PXE

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
This problem still bites us. I've tried to play around with DHCP settings (rd.net.timeout.dhcp, rd.net.dhcp.retry) to no avail. I'm happy about /any/ hint. high performance open source DHCP solution?
The free DHCP solution, ISC, seems to be having scaling issues (i.e. handling only about 200 DHCPDISCOVER and 20 DHCPRENEW requests), and I was wondering if anyone had any open source suggestions of solutions that could scale much better? (Ideally, I could find a free version of a solution like Nominum, but I know that's asking for much.) Anyone have any suggestions? -- Also on LinkedIn??

Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
I'm pretty new to KVM and have a KVM CentOS 7.1 hypervisor running a few VMs. I'm moving all my VMs from an ESXi host as I want to use KVM in future. Most of my VMs are working except for one which is running a Sophos UTM router (Sophos UTM is similar to products like pfSense <https://www.pfsense.org/>, Smoothwall <http://www.smoothwall.org/> etc). The host has 3 physical NICs

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
Hi, I'm not sure what sort of diagram you mean, but I'll have a try. Does this help? It sounds like I need to do something to enable routing on what I've labelled "NIC3" on the diagram - can you please explain what I need to do? Special dhcp options and PXElinux
Hi I am trying to enable my dhcpd and pxelinux setup to use a specific config file for a booting client. I have read the pxelinux page for this (http://syslinux.zytor.com/pxe.php#special) but still seem to be encountering problems. When running the dhcpd with the '-d' debug option the daemon sees the DHCPDISCOVER from the client and then core dumps. On the client side the DHCPDISCOVER
