Transformation of a variable in a dataframe
HI, I have a dataframe with two variable A, B. I transform the two variable and name them as C, D and save it in a dataframe dfcd. However, I wonder why can't I call them by dfcd$C and dfcd$D? Thanks, Miao > A=c(1,2,3) > B=c(4,6,7) > dfab<-data.frame(A,B) > C=dfab["A"]*2 > D=dfab["B"]*3 > dfcd<-data.frame(C,D) > dfcd A B 1 2 12 2 4 18 3 6 21 > dfcd$C NULL > dfcd$A [1] 2 4 6 [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Forcing Local Profiles with a Samba PDC
Forcing Local Profiles with a Samba PDC Is there any way for Samba to force all NT and Win2k clients of a Samba 2.2.7 PDC to use LOCAL profiles instead of ROAMING profiles? In my area each M$ box is attached to test equipment. The differences in test equipment between M$ boxes is significant. Roaming profiles are causing boxes to complain about hardware that exists only on another box. Forcing

PDC Swap
I'm using Samba 2.2.8a. Here's my scenario. I have a PDC box "willie1" that I want to replace with a stronger box "willie2". I run the command willie2# smbpasswd -r willie1 -S and transfer willie1's SIDs to willie2. I take down willie1 and willie2 then rename willie2 to willie1. I do this so I can keep my current scripts and policies which have the willie1 name

Trying to compile Samba 2.2.8a on Solaris 10. Changing Samba versions is not an option. Too many production systems hanging off that PDC. Samba 2.2.8a SunOS smb244-1 5.10 Generic sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210 Tried gcc 3.3.2 and 2.95.3. Everything compiles but when it tries to link I get the following error. I searched the archives but didn't find any answer for this. How do I fix this?
