POP +OK CR LF Question
HI. I just finished installing a new mail server running CentOS Ver 4. and
I am running sendmail with devecot 0.99.11.
Everything is working fine except for a customer of mine is using a tool
that does pop requests. And his tool
is failing waiting on a CR LF in the +OK. I did a small hex dump of my old
pop and the dovecot pop and
he is right. Docevot POP does not end its +OK with a CR LF. I looked

RC10 errors
...18235 (imap) killed with signal 6
I find it most interesting that only 1 out of 150+ users is getting this
error... And again, no complaints from the user.
Setup is: wu-imap mbox files in /var/spool/mail (exported via NFS, but
local to the dovecot server). Mail in ~/mail/ (NFS mount, foreign to
devecot server). Indexes in /var/dovecot/indexes (local to dovecot
server with no NFS at all).

I must admit I don't understand what is going on. I am running rsyslog
on two servers and on both servers version 2.2.13 of dovecot.
On the first I set log_path = /var/log/dovecot1 with

adding user for maildir and mail_location
Dear all,
I install
postfix ,postfix-mysql,dovecot-core,dovecot-mysql,dovecot-pop3,dovecot-imapd and postfixadmin form debian repo.
Also i configured postfixadmin.
It work fine with mbox storage, But i need to change it to my
path/domain/users
i saw devecot have mail_location directive.
i changed it to :
mail_location = maildir:/var/pool/%d/%u
My questions are:
1. how can i assign mail_location directive to a maildir storage
according to my path and domain/user , such as qmail?
2. i want to mysql, i need to write bash script to add/delete/update for...

Virtual User Authentication
I have only "virtual users" on the system that I maintain. I am using Postfix
which is configured to use Devecot for authentication. I get several attempts
everyday to hack into the system, both via Postfix and directly via Dovecot.
The following is from the dovecot log:

Dovecot 1.2.11 renames Maildir filenames on first read of foreign POPstore - how to avoid
Greetings,
I'm converting from a custom POPstore ( > 100,000 messages) which is
Maildir-like and uses the filename as the UIDL and doesn't store it
inside the message. I'm wondering whether there is hope for config-file
options to keep devecot from renaming files when it first sees them,
or whether I'm going to need to create a new backend for dovecot based
on Maildir.
The renaming not only blows my current UIDLs, it seems to upset
Dovecot's indexing,
Cheers!

My POPstore looks like this:

Subaddress Extension in sieve plugin
...ommand line switch "-d".
I did not analyse the problem very deep, but I believe we should introduce a new command
line parameter for deliver, so deliver can pass the detail information to the sieve plugin. With
that parameter you are able to pass the detail information from sendmail to devecot's deliver
in the same way procmail is handled (procmail uses -a parameter).
To avoid confusion: deliver has already a parameter -m to specify a different mailbox. In the
described case the mailbox should be determined by the sieve filter, not via command line
parameter.

[Dovecot 1.1.3] Strange problem with attachment download
...doesn't change anything. I
also tried a lot of different settings (concerning locking, nfs,
permissions) in the dovecot.conf. Everything else works just fine:
logging in, receiving, creating folders, deleting etc...)
Im using a (very) old SuSE 9.0 installation with ext2.
I put my (current) devecot.conf and the output of "dovecot -n" at the end.
As I have no idea what else to try/check:
Anyone out there who has a tip what else I could check to solve this? Or
even someone who had the same problem with a solution? ;o)
Thx
