Hello, I'm new to Asterisk and would like to know SIP support status. Are there any testing been done with some widely deployed client (Cisco SIP IP phone, ...)? I was using Vocal but I'm now interested in Asterisk as it seems to offer more features...if it supports SIP. Thanks for your help. Francois.

I have seen a couple of messages on the Xten and the work done by William Walsh (Kudos). It is not clear in my mind the advantages of SIP phones versus using GnoPhones (once we complete the work for the Windows version). Since I lack the experience with IP SIP phones, can someone, high level, tell me when it makes sense to use them. Is it complicated to set up on the Asterisk side? Thank you.

Hello, I have successfully tested the new IAXCLIENT release (even with GUI) to initiate calls. I wonder now how I could receive call on this client (using dynamic IP address) as I didn't see any kind of registration. Thanks and regards. Francois.
