ssh-agent
Hi :-) We use ssh-agent for batch jobs. The jobs get the key from the ssh-agent over the envoirment variables. When we start many jobs at the same time, the agent dont give the key to the job. We have tracet the our script an see the follow: ... 26918: 0.0004 so_socket(PF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM, 0, "", 1) = 13 26918: 0.0001 fcntl(13, F_SETFD, 0x00000001) = 0 26918: 0.0003 connect(13,

Muchas gracias...

Linear and cuadratic effects
I'd like to know how to obtain a table of anova of a 3^2 desing with linear and cuadratic sum of squares because if I use "aov", this comand only bring me the linear sum of squares: > A<-rep(c(rep(-1,3),rep(0,3),rep(1,3)),2) > B<-rep(rep(c(-1,0,1),3),2) > y<-c(1.5,1.4,0.8,3.5,2.9,1.8,4,3.8,2.7,1.2,1.3,1.2,3.2,2.5,2,4.2,3.4,3 ) >

glibc-debug is missing from 3.3
hi, it seems that glibc-debug missing from 3.3 while it's in 3.1 so automatic yum update is not working (missing package). it's just a fault or it's missing "by desing"? yours. -- Levente "Si vis pacem para bellum!"

one question
...>b_state)); clear_bit(BH_Alloced, &bh->b_state); here after assert, we clear the bit right away. So the other question is: If one block was new alloced, BH_Alloced was set in it's buffer_header and there is no way to clear it until the buffer was destroyed. Is that right? In my case, dese it means that Ext3 allocate a block which is already allocated? Thanks a lot. -- Eric

Question about Survey Package
To whom it may concern, I have a question referring to the calculation of variance estimation of the survey package I need to estimate the variance for different Domains but for a stratified sampling desing in several stages. Särndal et al (1992), CAP 10, makes reference to this problem. My question is if it is possible by means of "survey package" to obtain these

repeated measures with random effects
Dear all, I'm interested in analysing a reapeated measure desing where plant height (H) was measured 3 times (Time). The experimental design include 2 fixed factor (say A and B) in which A is nested in B, and a random factor (C, the plot), using the aov(). So my first idea would be something like: aov(H ~ B * A %in% B * Time + Error(id) ) where id is the factor coded for the repeated

Per form field_error_proc
Hi everybody, I needed change field error rendering for some forms created with Rail''s form builder. I found solution by changing ActionView::Base::field_error_ proc to own before form and changing it back after form rendered. I don''t like this solution :) It''s not thread-safe (but it''s not so important, nobody really wants it :), but I don''t like

Mixed model question
Hi, I am new to this list as a poster, but a reader for some time. I've using R for several weeks now, and I have a lot of questions about certain procedures. Here I go: I want to test if there are differences in the time spent by pollinators visiting flowers of a given plant species, according to a number of experimental manipulations made on those flowers. All experimental

survival parametric question
Hi to all, I am working on design package using survival function. First using PSM and adopting a weibull specification for the baseline hazard , I have got the following results(since weibull has both PH and AFT propreties ,in addition I have used the PPHSm command): Value Std. Error z p (Intercept) 1.768 1.0007 1.77 7.73e-02 SIZE -0.707 0.0895 -7.90 2.80e-15

Efficient way to perform linear regressions
Hi All, I have millions of regression lines to fit. So I am looking for the most efficient approach in R. Details: I have a large desing matrix X. The dimension is n by p. Each time when fitting the model, select rows from this matrix X and form a new design matrix, called X_current. There is another binary matrix M, with dim m by n, and each row is a 1*n vector. It helps to determin X_current.

¡Muchas gracias! Mode context extremely poor performance.
Hi all, I curently have a big problem. One request (listed above) using context take up to 1000 more time than the on RAW or ext2 database. I have ran this request on a single IA32 machine with Redhat and dbf on ext2. The average reponse time is less than a sec. The same request on RAC 4 nodes cluster on RAW take the same average time. On ext2 idem. But on OCFS it took up to 15 sec randomly

optimize simultaneously two binomials inequalities using nlm( ) or optim( )
Dear R users, I?m trying to optimize simultaneously two binomials inequalities (used in acceptance sampling) which are nonlinear solution, so there is no simple direct solution. Please, let me explain shortly the the problem and the question as following. The objective is to obtain the smallest value of 'n' (sample size) satisfying both inequalities: (1-alpha) <= pbinom(c, n, p1)
