Slow login to Samba domain
...machine are in a work group they
login very quickly and the XP machines login at a normal rate. I have
searched and not found any articles that are relevant. Does anyone
else experience this? Does anyone have any tips on how to work out
what Windows 7 is doing during this time?
Thanks in advance,

Basic ISOLINUX question
...e bootable CD will simply run a couple of scripts to copy
files onto a machine's hard drive.
What exactly do I need to put in my isolinux.cfg file? Do I *need* to have
a initrd or can I do without? How do I tell ISOLINUX where to find the
root filesystem (or does it figure it out itself)?

OCFS write/read across 2 nodes
...;?
The problem is that at t=1 I am still seeing "1", however when I run
ocfstool on node B I can see "2".
Assuming that this is correct behaviour this must imply that Oracle writes
and reads to/from the filesystem in a different manner.
Is this where o_direct comes in?
Thanks

Setting domain group ownership on files
...er owns the file. However the group owner
is the local group 'users' (coming from the chmod above). My question
is "Is there a way to chgrp the parent folder to the DOM\Domain users
group?" or do I have to employ a groupmap between Domain users and the
local users group?
Thanks,
Dermot.

Moving Domains - profiles question
...ddocs/en-us/sysdm_userprofile_copy.mspx?mfr=true)
What I'm concerned about is if I move the profile wholesale into the
new path, keys in the old user.dat might conflict with the new domain.
Does anyone have any experience of this type of migration that can
offer any advice?
Thanks in advance,
Dermot.

smb panic when adding printer with apw
Hi,
I'm using samba 3.3.15 as domain member in an w2k8 ad. We're using the
w2k3/xp add printer wizard to add a printer to the server. Since the
update from 3.2.15 to 3.3.15 the apw fails when clicking on the "finish"
button. At the same time a smb panic occurs and fills the smbd log with
the lines below.

Can anyone advise me on the configuration I would need?

Adding to Samba domain requires super-user password

Can someone offer me any pointers on how I can use a domain\admin

Thanks in advance.

2) Is there a simple way to read in data and skip lines, i.e., say skip every

perform the skipping in R. However, I am wondering is there a one-step method.
Thanks in advance,

I have seen this article:

the answer to this may very dependent on my config.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Thanks in advance.

Removing "row.names"
I need to completely remove row.names from a dataframe. Are there other
ways to remove them (and not anything else) besides:
mydataframe<-data.frame(mydataframe, row.names=NULL)
I realize that this doesn't really remove the row.names; it merely replaces
the current row.names vector with the numbers 1..nrow (in quotes).
