Hi, Sorry if this is slightly OT. I have just moved from a WindowNT domain to a Samba3x PDC. What I'd really like now is some tools to help me manage users. Some of the things on my wish list are to be able to edit a remote registry (the user's profiles are local) and Remote desktop access so I do not have to run over their desks every time there is a message they don't understand. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to make user management a little simpler in my environment? Thanks, Dermot.

[Samba] [META] suggestions for managing users desktops
Hi Dermot, First be smart, when u use a domain also use roaming profiles. then u can use a loginscript and policies for managing registry settings. I'm using kixscript for my loginscript. if you want i can email you my setup and tools. My loginscript also registers the computer name and loginname of a user in script, so you always know who is sitting at what computer. For user/group management i'm using the NT4 user manager. If you want to know more, just send my a email.
